Clearly none of you read MCSweeney's
Rush - The New Birth Control
I'm a Rush fan but hard to argue the logic here.

I would argue that Rush was really a prog band, although they did have a prog-ish phase. And yes, I am a fan. But the article is pretty funny. Seriously, there are prog bands (especially in the avant-prog subgenre), past and present, that make Rush sound like a Korean boy band. If Rush is birth control, then by comparison, The Thinking Plague might cause infertility. |
...and there was a band called 'Birth Control'.... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/DlMLggddmCO1cjlzx-4_2z8YvboXEZVfPCfpjIWHxrZcYabc53gie6IGqwDx... Live, album from 1974. https://youtu.be/zCRbnx8xO44 |
Found this a few days ago and had to share it with many. A long-time, dedicated Rush fan here but completely agree with almost everything. However, when I was on the first date with the woman who is now my wife of 11 years, I asked her if she liked Rush and when she said "Yes", I knew it was destiny. |
