8:11amJust clean and tighten your fuse holder and re-new your fuse I just heeded that advice and now the QSA light blue fuse is out of this world! I thought they were good before but thanks to George these QSA fuses are absolutely incredible. And there it is!!! (clean and tighten), if this non technical member did the same but with a new 50cent Bussman fuse the end result would have been the same. "absolutely incredible" . To those "non technical" members that are interested, do not listen to fusers, listen to the techs of this industry that design the audio products. AND YOU WON"T SEE THEM ON THREADS LIKE THIS AGREEING WITH THESE FUSERSJust clean and tighten your fuse holder and re-new your fuse (if old) with a good quality 50cent Bussman, Littlefuse or similar. As with "many switch-on surges" they do deteriorate, bend, stretch and get crusty with electrolysis formations on their fusible wire elements before they give out, as these pics show of a fuse wire element ageing over time show. https://ibb.co/9NbTwqK (even the $$$ boutique ones will age just as much also) Cheers George |
Thanks for promoting the QSA fuses George. With your advice and the already wonderful light blue and yellow fuses from QSA people are going to be enjoying some fantastic music.
Quantum Science Audio and George working together to bring aftermarket fuses to the masses for a tweaked out good time. |
My yellow fuse, for my EAR 868PL arrived this weekend. I've got about 5 hours on it. The sound quality improvement is stunning. I'm now considering trading up to either the purple or red.
Shout out to the forum members who actually try a product and report back with their experiences. |
@lexphin It really is incredible isn’t it? I’m going to order a violet this Friday... |
Quantum Science Audio and George working together to bring aftermarket fuses to the masses for a tweaked out good time. Sorry sunshine no backsies for you, and no promoting of "snake oil" fuses from me. You would have got the same result with a new 50c Bussman fuse, with as you said a clean and tighten of the fuse holder. |
HifiG is truly happy we fuse dudes are getting off on the different colors. Yellow is a great color to start off this fuse Journey. Purple may be the sweet spot for the intelligent, wise and skilled searchers for better sound quality.
Launch out into the deep and enjoy the ride. Remember before you launch, clean and tighten your fuse holder. |
Georgie ...
I took your advice and changed out all of my SR Orange fuses for fifty-cent Bussman fuses. The clarity went away. The three-dimensional sound stage flattened. The natural tonal quality of all instruments became plastic. And to top it all off, The Bussman fuses made Sarah Vaughn sound like Bruce Springstein.
Question: Am I experiencing a break-in problem with these Bussman fuses, or do I just not have them inserted in the proper direction?

"Remember before you launch, clean and tighten your fuse holder"
Thanks for the great advice Glory! |
I think the next color from QSA should be ebony and ivory in honor of George and his promotion of their fuses... “Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why don’t we? Clean and tighten the fuse holder” |
Tightening the fuse holder? Now I've heard it all. Does georgie think if you turn your gear upside down, the fuses will fall out?
I've removed mine about a dozen times and it takes effort to do so. No loss of clamping force and it's not easy to rotate them while in place.
Maybe he's used as cheap a version of a fuse holder he could find in his designs but the major players don't.
All the best, Nonoise |
T.Ramey When you get your Violet fuse, can you report back how it compares to the yellow?
Much appreciated |

yeah sure ya did🤦♂️ |
"Tightening the fuse holder? Now I've heard it all."
On the bright side nonoise... At least George isn't carrying on about changing fuses as being a "safety hazard" anymore. Now he is even advocating we use tools! Progress... |
Does georgie think if you turn your gear upside down, the fuses will fall out?
Every time you decide to have a go at me personally, you'll get this. That may make a non technical gullible potential $$$$$ fuse purchaser, think twice about purchasing after reading it I hope.

Hey georgie, we can take that as it's just a bunch of hooey. Just because you said it doesn't' make it true.
As for personal attacks (going at someone personally), that's what you do which is the reason you've had some or your posts deleted. But by all means, keep reposting the same old, boring, advice that no one here follows.
All the best, Nonoise |
I’ve been off the ‘Gon for some 8 years and have come back because these fuses are a breakthrough in audio. I’ve never laughed so hard reading posts by different members as I have on this thread and the other fuse thread.
Thank God the monitors allow a sense of humor to come forth on these threads. If you don’t believe in God then thank the gases in the sky that came together one day and did all this.
lex,
Moving up the color chart. HifiG will be proud of you. |
Guys,
It's no competition, QSA light blue fuse easily beats my SR orange, blue, black and my Audio Horizon fuses in clarity and all dimensions; you hear it immediately and with no burn-in.
The difference is quite startling!

As for personal attacks (going at someone personally), that’s what you do Sorry, I attack the BS being preached about these $$$$ fuses. Not personally the ones saying it, BIG DIFFERENCE But by all means, keep reposting the same old, boring, advice that no one here follows. So long as it stops even just one member from getting ripped off by these "snake oil" companies it’s worth the effort. Anything that can make Sarah sound like Bruce must involve Quantum tunneling…. |
Sorry, I attack the BS being preached about these $$$$ fuses. Not personally the ones saying it, BIG DIFFERENCE. georgie, just because your posts were deleted for insulting and attacking other members here doesn't mean you never did it or we don't remember. It's only been a day for crying out loud. Are you trying to rewrite history? All the best, Nonoise |
Be careful...if you tighten your fuse holder to tight, it may not work like you want it to... |
Wig,

It’s only a matter of time before audiophiles here learn and find out that this yellow fuse is a bargain for the sound quality it brings forth.
Wig is right on with his post. |
I am using SR oranges in my MSB V DAC and transport at the moment. What a tremendous upgrade in sound quality from the standard fuses I am trying to get some QSAs but not so easy in Europe... Really looking forward for them. Want to start with the yellows |
I love it when competition drives innovation and we all benefit. Seems SR has some work to do to regain their top quality position in the growing high end fuse category.
I suspect the fuse category will continue to see innovation and that is exciting! |
Is the black worth trying or should I jump onto a blue straight away?
I want to do both my mono blocks and my pre. |
@pauly
I'm sure the black is good but since several of us have stated the blue is already way better than the SR orange I would say go for the blue. |
|
@Pauly,
Stretch and go yellow. |
Well, come on guys! Chime in with some results! |
@glory
I swing the soldering iron myself, so for the price of three yellows there is a smorgasbord of other improvements I can do, not to mention NOS tubes and a better PC for my pre.
The yellow fails when I consider the marginal rate of utility substitution. Blue is on the knife edge.
I'll go with a single blue for my pre. I'll listen to that and then evaluate the improvement vs. other improvements I can get for the $$. Low hanging fruit first. |
Violet and another yellow is on order. I'll be able to compare a light blue to a yellow to a violet in my dac. My preamp also uses the same amperage fuse so some experimenting is in my future. |
t_ramey,
That will be be a very interesting and helpful comparison. Look forward to your report. |
Pauly,
Blue will be a great start. Yellow is like an upgraded AC cable, tubes, new amp and new speakers.
These fuses are hard to understand, by those who have not heard them, the major SQ improvement that they bring to ones system.
Some 175 hours on the Red Black. Starts off really open and transparent then it hit a dead spot and now 😱🎶🎼🎵🚀.
Tone and textures are 💯. With the Add Powr X2 there’s a sound that’s addictive. If you have an Add Powr X2/4 get at least a yellow it it.
|
Yes, start with a blue fuse and you’ll be amazed; one fuse change is more noticeable than going from copper to silver interconnects but without any thinness...😁
Wig |
T,
Looking forward on your feedback on the next two fuses you install. |
Seems my order for the Blue is not in stock. It will take some time for some of us to get our fuses and report back. |
CLARITY & PRESENCE Light Blue after 40 hours-what music was excellent is now excellent and gripping. $71 each… about $7100 in improvements. No question, ordering Yellow… $21,100 in improvements?! But not available until mid August. Looks like people are catching on. |
I believe Tweek Geek is accumulating orders and then sending them to the supplier all at the same time. They said that an order was sent out on the 15th ... two days ago,
Frank |
I’ve got 2 yellow, 2 purple and 1 red coming at the end of month.
2 yellow one red black in the system now. |
Here is what I posted on the other thread.
So I received my first yellow fuse for my Dac. First minutes of listening, its just ok. Actually, I don't think it is any better than my SR orange. But that fuse was treated with the High Fidelity 1260 contact enhancer. And perhaps I was expecting more based on all the chatter. I have 2 more yellows to receive for my amps, so we shall see.
UPDATE: Now, a day later still no great revelation in sound quality.

I also had the 1260 contact enhancer on my SR orange and AH fuses and my QSA fuses untreated still sounded better on install; orient fuse the same direction as your SR fuse.

ozzy dammit man, you need to get with the program ozzy what you are saying is NOT OK... how recently have you gotten your hearing checked? or maybe you are just NOT trying hard enough to hear the difference these AWESOME fuses make... did you compare to a home depot bussman fuse????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
@wig Did you reinsert the other fuses and go back and forth a few times with your comparisons to the QSA fuse? Thanks. |
I am demo’ing a RED fuse in my Sorcer X 4... I will hold off on any detailed observations for now as it has not been 3 days yet. But, to my ears there is definitely break in...It was rolled off in the highs when I installed it...now the highs are coming in, but the overall "balance is not there yet. After I get a handle on what the fuse is "doing" - I will switch to the original fuse and do some comparisons...I have some thoughts already on what it is doing, but I am waiting until I am convinced it has "settled", which I don’t think it has. glory mentioned 175 hours. So, I will give it several more days. |
@ david_ten
Yes, I swopped them back and forth a few time but I have tape on the back of my components to indicate the direction of fuses and the QSA was quite noticeable on install : )
Wig |
Yes, I installed the yellow in the same direction as the SR orange. Today, there does seem to be more information coming through. Hopefully it will continue to progress.
ozzy |
Progress how like you speak of women and joke about them on the Sly? Tom |
@wig Thanks. Eliminating differences due to on/off, component and cable movement/disconnection/reconnection, removal/reinsertion into the fuse holder, etc. is important. |
David,
I use the 1260 Elixir from High Fidelity Cables on all of my connections externally as well as internally..a progession of sorts. Makes an improvement on my magnets and all other tissues that join. Wonderful and musical. No insertion loss post connection..seems to reduce warm up time as if there hardly isn't any..Will try on my speaker tinsel leads and then onto other moving electrical conductors. Tom |
@ david_ten
You are spot-on! The SR had an advantage of 8+ months of use verses the first few seconds with the QSA; that's how long it took me to discern the differences...
Then the swopping began over a 3 hour period and just couldn't believe the level of clarity I was hearing. It's going to be a long haul to hit 200+ hours as my system is all tube based and typically listen 3-4 hours nightly. 😁
