Quantum Science Audio light blue fuse; $71, what a bargain!

I wanted to start a new thread about the more affordable versions of these fuses. I don’t doubt that the higher end versions are amazing, but most of us aren’t very likely to be able to hear them for ourselves. Fortunately, pretty much anyone who is serious about building a musically enjoyable and engaging system can get a good taste of what they’re all about.

I’ve had the light blue QSA fuses ($71) in my CD transport and DAC for over two weeks, now. They replaced SR blue fuses, at around twice the price, and easily bettered them. I am expecting one more light blue tomorrow, to replace an SR orange in my amp. I’ll give an update on that, once I get it installed and listen.

Meanwhile, here are a couple quotes from my posts on the other thread:

“What I am hearing is; voices & instruments are more solid and lifelike, with increased natural detail and sense of space, better dynamics, and a more relaxed overall sound.”

“Just got in a second light blue fuse for my DAC. So far, more of the same improvements I got in my CD transport. Very nice!😃 One thing I appreciate is the break in seems to be pretty quick, without any of the nasties you get with some other stuff. Pop it in, and you’ll hear improvements in short order, at least that’s been my experience.”

I am continuing to greatly enjoy what these fuses bring to my system, and am really looking forward to getting the last one in my amp.

Another point is... We should not be discussing/condemning a product we've never used

(He has NEVER tried a premium fuse & I've never heard his product)

Hey, I thought I was the ring leader!

We (also admin) all know your just his lackey.

To those "non technical" members that are interested.
Just clean and tighten your fuse holder and re-new your fuse (if old) with a good quality 50cent Bussman, Littlefuse or similar.
As with "many switch-on surges" they do deteriorate, bend, stretch and get crusty with electrolysis formations on their fusible wire elements before they give out, as these pics show of a fuse wire element ageing over time show. https://ibb.co/9NbTwqK
(even the $$$ boutique ones will age just as much also)
Cheers George

georgehifi ...

I went to a family picnic today. There was a relative there who knows everything about everything (you know the type, I'm sure). He argued up one side and down the other that Tesla was promoting DC power and Edison was promoting AC power. He was very adamant about his position and wouldn't move off of the subject. I told him to take the DC batteries out of his flashlight and plug it into the wall. You remind me of that guy, Georgie. These aftermarket fuses improve SQ as claimed. Seriously, you should try one. Your position is as ludicrous as that guy at the picnic.

Look! george is playing the "admin" card again.
Didn't work at any time in the past.
Won't work this time either.

All the best,

I don’t know what improvement they bring, but the name is a real turn off

It’s all a money making grab from the gullible that have no technical knowledge, by those that feed on their gullibility like leaches. Like a few other audio "snake oil" products

Like: These $20 little black dots you stick on the end of a fuse.
https://ibb.co/LpDpf3f
And: Quantum Dots (that had it’s thread removed)

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Feelin the old dog presence in this thread.
As an "old dog" myself, who has learned a ton of "new tricks" over the past few years, it would be a pleasure for any of the naysayers to hear my system, and then with a straight face tell me that these so-called "snake oil" items don't work.

Frank
To the “technical” members that are interested.

We stand behind the QSA fuses with this same 30-day guarantee. If you try one of these fuses and don't think it is worth the investment, simply return it in it's original packaging and condition, and we will refund you the purchase price.

It’s hard to be gullible these days with 30 day money back guarantees. Unless your’e the Light”is on but nobody’s home”Speed Attenuator guy...

Wisper,

yellow fuse took the  X2 20% better, like on steroids.

Red black you don’t want to know. Don’t demo it. It’s a very strong drug like experience. Mike @TG is a pusher of this drug like item.” Here, demo this”, now I am ruined. Doesn’t matter what the little Eeyore’s write or think. Let them dial up for internet connection, watch a 12” B&W TV and have a rotary telephone with a wire.  🙈🙉🙊
Ok, will give it a go with a demo and let the ears decide. Thanks for everyone's input! This is what I like about these forums. Also, thanks to those that respond to private messages about this hobby - it has enhanced my listening pleasure and also my enjoyment of this hobby.

I wish the moderators would put a stop to Georgie, it just distracts from threads. Maybe the moderators think it gets more eyeballs? Anyway, those that feel the need to be right all the time have fragile ego's - many are obsessed with trying to be right and winning every argument, in the end, they’re going to be viewed as less credible and not worthy of following. No one knows 100% of everything. Humility is a key leadership trait. Set aside the ego, embrace vulnerability and the fact that you can be wrong and don't have to be right all the time. If you are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original. Ask Edison.

Indeed. I have a feeling the reaction upon hearing either of our systems would be https://youtu.be/JM9HmdnbqwE?t=47 followed immediately by

Wisper,

Free speech is a high commodity in this day and age, let George write what he wants and find the humor in the writings. Most humor is hidden and one must find it to get a good laugh.

Once  again another great thread quickly ruined by the "fuse hater"! OK, we get it, you know who you are, you hate the thought of audiophile fuse's and you hate the people that are interested in trying them. Great, we got your point, now move along, go take your hatred elsewhere, go start some political fights on Facebook with your friends if you have any, but leave us here who actually want to try experimenting with tweaks alone. Stop dragging these post down with your hatred. I for one am enjoying my new blue QSA fuse I installed in my Innuos Zenith last night. I think I might install the second one in my Primaluna tonight.
it just distracts from threads.
Na, it gives the other side of the fence view of this "snake oil" with some technical, answers not just voodoo sayings "trust me it sounds magnificent" .

Once again another great thread quickly ruined by the "fuse hater"!

Na sorry ya got that wrong, it’s one that’s exposing the "snake oilers" trying to make a huge profits on the gullible, selling them 10cent fuses for $150+

G,

Keep posting and don’t let the different Agon members talk you out of it. I, for one, think you’re hilarious. Words like gullible, snake oil, voodoo etc.. are entertaining words that we’ve never heard before. Very enlightening. Let Eeyore
rein.

You left a word out. Words like gullible, snake oil, voodoo, and fusers etc.. are entertaining words that we’ve never heard before. Very enlightening.

George does offer some very insightful posts on this forum. However, in the case of fuses I have to admit it is getting a tad old. I do get a chuckle out of his continual fuse posts. Post on George!
This is one area you seem to have a blind spot based on your comments and not trying them.

Recently built a new preamp, mostly my design and I know the sound well,  and adding an audiophile fuse certainly yielded sonic benefits over the common type of fuse (new).
Ring,

Free speech for George, all Americans and world wide.

50 cent fuse will do for George and many philes. For the deceived, fools, ignorant, snake oil buyers and idiots the $28K fuse will do.
A long time ago, I understood his game. Now I simply don’t read any of his posts when discussing fuses. In the end it’s always the same story : every fuse discussion become a Georges one. Look on this discussion, it’s him who has posted the more messages.
As a functionally blind reader it is really hard for me to decipher through threads that go back and forth swaying away from any OP's original intent.  I think it is great that there are pro's and con's to every tweak.  Reading these forums have helped me make informed decisions about products to buy.  However, I really don't need or want to read 25 posts from the same individual on any subject.  State your point and then move on please.

I look forward to hearing as many comments from people who have actually used these fuses.  In my case, I ordered four yellows to replace the SR orange.  I believe fuses do matter based on what I hear.  Now, on another note, I have the SR Orange Duplexes and I can say in my case it did not achieve what I had hoped for.   Not every tweak works but if you have the money and can experiment, it is fun.
Willgolf,

4 yellow will get you to Glory.

Had the orange SR outlet and gave it to my friend  without installing it 🥸

I am looking forward to your report and review on HiFi Tuning vs. QSA fuses.

Happy Listening!
So I received my 2 blue QSA fuses over the weekend. I started with my Innuos Zenith, mostly since Innuos has nice documentation on audiophile fuse and what direction they should go. I had a nice improvement in openness and detail. Then I tried my PrimaLuna EVO 400 integrated. Its IEC fuse holder sits horizontally below the PC. It made a little improvement with overall transparency and openness. I tried it both ways and could not really tell a difference. I hate to keep turning the tubes on and off to test this, but I did not hear a difference in direction like I did with the Innuos. My system right now sounds a little shrill. Yes it sounds more open and slightly more detailed but I think it sounds more shrill. Will this change with burn-in on the fuse?
JimP,

Yes it sounds more open and slightly more detailed but I think it sounds more shrill. Will this change with burn-in on the fuse?

Yes
@glory :approximately  how many hours will it need to burn in in your experience please ?
thanks
willgolf,
I just ordered a yellow fuse for my Lumin X1. It will replace the Synergistic orange fuse.

I'll post my findings.

No every fuse discussion is ** and there no technical engineers that will backup that **. So I post the other side of the fence which shows what happens to fuses.

Georgie,
Please read and try try real hard to comprehend with an open mind...
Fuses measure differently in either direction that is why they sound different in orientation, 60hz can see resistance.
http://www.hifi-tuning.com/pdf/wlfr.eng.pdf
Also Paul has been around and building equipment for decades Listen to his comments....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFlnQ1chBno
And
This quote says it all, to bad these close minded people continue to pollute the community and ad Nothing positive.. this is why the world is like it is now days.
“Less harmless are those audio enthusiasts who are least secure: those whose toxic rage at a world that does not accept the authority of their opinions—a world that persists in enjoying recorded music in ways of which they do not approve—accomplishes nothing other than making our hobby seem repellent.”

--Art Dudley

Also if you have not tried or listened to any of the other fuses out there You do not have an OPINION, if your so smart you should understand this?
Or maybe not .
Cheers Tom
Fuses measure differently in either direction

really!! You believe what the "snake oil company itself is telling you!!! And it’s milliohms!!!! (thousands!!! of an ohm!!!) are you serious!!!!!! That can be the difference in ambient temp reading from hour to hour. GET REAL!!!!!!!

If you really want to impress the doubters, show independent measured
technical reports on this, not what some fuse shiller is drip feeding you that you don’t understand

Hey look! georgie is so upset that he's gone back in time on two different threads and deleted some of my posts, long after I've posted them. He must be going cra-cra at the thought that there's a whole bunch of audio enthusiasts who know what they're hearing with these fuses.

Also, he thinks that by using symbols instead of using the actual curse words, he'll get away with it. What a class act.

All the best,
Nonoise

Like I said if your going to attack, do it against the proof posted on the topic, not personally yet again, as it seems that's all your good for.

I just heeded Eeyore’s advice and now the QSA light blue fuse is out of this world! I thought they were good before but thanks to George these QSA fuses are absolutely incredible.

What's with all the projection, georgie? You've had posts removed for your personal attacks, trying to be clever. It's all you seem to be good for, aside from posting the same irrelevant rants.

All the best,
