Quantum Science Audio light blue fuse; $71, what a bargain!

I wanted to start a new thread about the more affordable versions of these fuses. I don’t doubt that the higher end versions are amazing, but most of us aren’t very likely to be able to hear them for ourselves. Fortunately, pretty much anyone who is serious about building a musically enjoyable and engaging system can get a good taste of what they’re all about.

I’ve had the light blue QSA fuses ($71) in my CD transport and DAC for over two weeks, now. They replaced SR blue fuses, at around twice the price, and easily bettered them. I am expecting one more light blue tomorrow, to replace an SR orange in my amp. I’ll give an update on that, once I get it installed and listen.

Meanwhile, here are a couple quotes from my posts on the other thread:

“What I am hearing is; voices & instruments are more solid and lifelike, with increased natural detail and sense of space, better dynamics, and a more relaxed overall sound.”

“Just got in a second light blue fuse for my DAC. So far, more of the same improvements I got in my CD transport. Very nice!😃 One thing I appreciate is the break in seems to be pretty quick, without any of the nasties you get with some other stuff. Pop it in, and you’ll hear improvements in short order, at least that’s been my experience.”

I am continuing to greatly enjoy what these fuses bring to my system, and am really looking forward to getting the last one in my amp.

Not trying to hijack the thread by any means, but has anyone here tried the Quantum Science outlets? Seems like they may have "similar" treatment to the fuses?
Very interesting, thanks for posting...any idea on where the fuse has the biggest impact in the system? I.e. anyone moved them to various components to see where the biggest impact lies? Also, any feedback on what the "bang for buck" is in their line up of fuses by cost?

I have found fuses to make a difference. My amp has a breaker and does not use a fuse.
George, Hmmm...the designer of iconoclast - retired Belden engineer Galen Gareis, designed cables using measurements...likely the best measuring equipment around - (you may want to watch their icoonoclast cable videos) - it is Belden after all. He is also an audiophile and wanted to design the best cables he could using measurements and science - very good cables btw. And they offer cables using better grades of copper as they sound better, but guess what? They could't measure it...only speculate on the grain structure of the copper...

You may want to read up on Graphene and Fermions - scientific articles that is...
So, perhaps fuses can make a difference...BTW - I can hear the difference fuses make, but don't have the equipment to measure it. I appreciate "Goners" that post all of these findings as it has added to my musical listening pleasure!

My experience in tweaking has been it can make more of a difference than equipment upgrades, depending upon the tweak. So, perhaps tweak is a misnomer.
I'll have to give one of these or more a try - thanks for the feedback vs. the SR - . I had SR Orange Fuse in the past. In amps that were sold, and one in use now on another piece of gear and like them but why not improve upon it...will explore further - I really appreciate threads like these. Not sure why some feel the need to "rain" on the parade - I have been told it's a coping mechanism for fragile ego's.
Anyone here personally tried any of QSA outlets? I would be specifically interested in anyone who has compared it to SR orange outlets. BTW, I have also purchased from TweekGeek and found him to be very informative and responsive. Will have to try the fuses and outlets soon...and report back.
I've never understood closed minding thinking (those that only reflect on the past - flat earthers?) - after all, exploration and discovery is what makes technology better and our lives...I have found tweaks to significantly enhance my listening pleasure...without understanding 100% why they actually work...

Any speculation on what QSA is doing with their fuses? Not that it really matters - as long as they sound great...but Graphene - perhaps? I mean SR, PPT and myriads of others are using it...there is certainly  something going on here - I can hear the improvement when applied properly.

From a Science article...substance perhaps?

One of the biggest finds is that, using Weyl fermions, the researchers will be able to create fast-moving electrons with no risk of backscattering, or loss of electrons in a collision. Backscattering makes electronics less efficient and creates heat. Weyl electrons are able to avoid collisions and eliminate backscattering.

Essentially, what this means is that the Weyl fermions could provide a better flow of electricity and assist in the creation of more powerful and efficient electronics, especially in computers.

It's interesting as others have found purity of copper sounds better - and they have suggested that the improved lattice structure helps with flow...and sounds better...perhaps graphene.

I am auditioning some new "gear" / "Tweaks" right now. But when this trial has passed, I will move on to these fuses and outlets...

@ Glory -

Tell me more about the what the fuse did for the Sorcer as I have the x4 and really like it. I demo'd it for my teenage nephew and he heard the difference immediately and said, "plug it back in, please" -

I am also considering a fuse for my SR SE active ground block which has a orange fuse in it...

Ok, will give it a go with a demo and let the ears decide. Thanks for everyone's input! This is what I like about these forums. Also, thanks to those that respond to private messages about this hobby - it has enhanced my listening pleasure and also my enjoyment of this hobby.

I wish the moderators would put a stop to Georgie, it just distracts from threads. Maybe the moderators think it gets more eyeballs? Anyway, those that feel the need to be right all the time have fragile ego's - many are obsessed with trying to be right and winning every argument, in the end, they’re going to be viewed as less credible and not worthy of following. No one knows 100% of everything. Humility is a key leadership trait. Set aside the ego, embrace vulnerability and the fact that you can be wrong and don't have to be right all the time. If you are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original. Ask Edison.
Be careful...if you tighten your fuse holder to tight, it may not work like you want it to...
I am demo’ing a RED fuse in my Sorcer X 4... I will hold off on any detailed observations for now as it has not been 3 days yet. But, to my ears there is definitely break in...It was rolled off in the highs when I installed it...now the highs are coming in, but the overall "balance is not there yet. After I get a handle on what the fuse is "doing" - I will switch to the original fuse and do some comparisons...I have some thoughts already on what it is doing, but I am waiting until I am convinced it has "settled", which I don’t think it has. glory mentioned 175 hours. So, I will give it several more days.
I am still in the auditioning phase. But, I am experiencing break in for sure and for me at least a rather lengthy one.

What I don't know is whether the various color fuses all break in the same way? i.e. longer time frame, shorter time frame, different type of break in etc. Also, different equipment may respond differently...I am auditioning a RED fuse, so cannot comment on the blue fuse. But I think it may be a bit early in the break in phase.
