Yikes!! One of my favorite songs (or favorite bands really) happens to be on this list as another person’s most annoying. Can’t say which one, else I’d never hear the end of it from all of you fine fellow audiophiles. Just goes to show, you can’t account for individual tastes I guess...

3:51pmI know what you mean--i was stunned to see the Live version of Hotel California listed--then i wondered which live version? Surely it can't be the one on Hell Freezes Over--i use that one to demo speakers ! If it is the one he/she's talking about--well, to each his own... Yes wyoboy, that's the version. I don't know how old you are, but when the original album came out, that song was played way to often on FM radio. Then the band reformed, and we got that new version which was just about a letter perfect copy of the first. Sometimes a song is played so many times that you can never enjoy it again. For me, it doesn't happen with really good songs, but I don't think Hotel California was ever that good. |
I was out of country when the original came out and not in a place where you would ever hear any American music. I didn't hear it until around 1979 so i was never exposed to the overplay. Not my favorite Eagles song but the extended intro with Walsh and Felder on the Hell Freezes over version is the reason i listen to it when i do. |
Noooooooo is right, what an awful song by a wonderful singer. I met Maria a few times, she has a great sense of humor, and this album is superb https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07KK2T1HZ?tag=amz-mkt-chr-us-20&ascsubtag=1ba00-01000-a0047-win10-other-smile-us000-pcomp-feature-scomp-wm-5&ref=aa_scomp_srdg2 |
Joy to the World by Three Dog Night. Voted #1 for the year at WLS Chicago and it was the worst song on the album. The only good thing about it was it ruined Top 40 for me. Eventually became a Deadhead. The Beatles B.S. where they were definitely laughing at us.Muskrat Love by America. What a way to destroy a "Best of" cd. |
"My Charona"! I don’t even want to remember the name of that band. That one made me want to give up listening to the radio. Also, "Take it to the Limit" by the Eagles. God, did they take that to the limit of my my patience. I very much agree with the Yoko comments. What was that? I guess you have to chalk that up to "opposites attract".I agree with most of these posts--very funny. |
Bette Miller—Wind Beneath my Wings—Hands Down! Also, that song Whitney Houston horked off Dolly Parton... Remember the Original rule...no one has a better version than the original...thinking Hank Williams, Leonard Cohen, Lennon/McCartney, Bob Dylan...although TBH, Cash, GD, and Fairport don’t do bad Dylan covers... |
@royv101621: My favorite juke box prank: Repeat until your $5.00 of credit is gone Maybelline by Chuck Berry THEN RUN That's exactly what happened when i broke the jukebox--couple expat teenage girls put on who-knows-how-much-worth of Achy Breaky Heart (anything more than once is already torture!) and then left the bar laughing...i refused to abandon my drink so there was only one thing left to do |
