Listening as a civilian

Convalescing from recent surgery, I’ve been listening to my system differently from usual;  just listening as a means to get through the ordeal and not obsessing over the niceties or quibbles with sound.
It’s a time to sit back and enjoy all the work that’s been put in to improve things, and get into the music.

Refreshing!

Yup. The better we feel, the more attention we can afford to working on details. Get well soon.
Aside from having to recover, I can't tell you how lucky you are to get to this place in listening.  As some one who learned to always be looking for problems with hardware it is very very difficult to sit back and get out of a critical mindset.

Do everything you can to hold onto your current state of music enjoyment, and feel better soon.

Best,

E
Taking a break from improving your hifi system, to tweaking your bodily system. You're still in the mode of making improvements! 👍 Music and mental relaxation helps the healing process.
rvpiano I hope your recovery is speedy and the tunes soothing to your body and soul.
Hope you feel better very soon.Relaxing and enjoying music can only help:-)
I wish for you that your enjoyment of the music will speed the healing process. Being able to have a positive attitude during the process surely helps. All the best to you!!
As a person who has survived cancer, I fully understand what you say .I also just relax and listen and don't worry about the system anymore ....Good Luck.
You can try the expensive Snake Ointment. Maybe start a thread on your findings and ask for other's opinions..... HA

Just stay away from the computer. My last surgery I wound up spending almost $1000,00 on new music! Nothing like Percs and new music:)
Music streaming is a great thing to help hold interest. If possible try playing some things you like then let random play kick in to find similar things you might like and not even be aware of  for you.
yes, pain meds and online buying is a bad combination...but I don't regret anything I bought after my surgeries...Get Well Soon !!!
