I saw him here in Phoenix a few years ago with Todd Rundgren, and Johnny Depp joined him on stage for a couple of songs. I saw him three times in all, once when he was with BBA, and he was always a solid performer. I think that he had a long and interesting life. That's something to celebrate even though he'll be missed.
My wife (GF at the time) and I saw him twice, once with George Harrison and one other time but can’t remember when. Before David Gilmour was hired to replace Syd Barrett in Pink Floyd, the group floated the idea of asking Jeff Beck to join them. He will truly be missed, RIP.
