If a tree falls in the forest…

I’ve assembled a relatively top notch system that only I have listened to. I would really like to have someone else hear it to share and confirm my experience.  I live on Long Island close to New York City.  Any suggestions?

I’d like to meet, hear each other’s system.

You have any need or interest going to VAS, meeting Steve and Ray Leung? I need to go pick up a Fisher 500 of mine he has some time, maybe you come by here, we go together. VAS is 35 minutes south of me 0 7 0 6 2

I guess we could take a train to either you or me rather than drive, especially this time of year. You close to what train station? I’m close to Netherwood Train Station, Raritan Valley Line, Netherwood Historic District of Plainfield.

Wish I was nearby, unfortunately you are on the right coast and I am on the left.

Have you updated photos of your system? I suspect you have modified it since the photo. If that is the way it looks today, I can think of some suggestions.

1:Post videos on uTube..If you don’t have the gear to do a good video,I’m sure you could get a local content creator to do a few for a reasonable cost..
2:Invite friends & family over for a Christmas party featuring Christmas related music videos(search uTube for favorite artists)..I’ll bet most have never heard a really good system & if yours is even decent sounding you’ll know it by their reactions...

Plenty of members here are from Long Island. Why not post an invite in the Audio Club section

I used to live in the western side of Queens and owned a car, but now I’ve been in Minnesota for over six years.

Unable to private message you.  Audiogon making it very difficult.
Thanks  for the suggestions.

My experience of your system would be uniquely mine, as your experience of your system is uniquely yours.  Since we are dependent on language to communicate our perceptions, how can your “meeting of the minds” possibly be accomplished, either today, or in the future?

Hey, @rvpiano

I was in New York this weekend, would’ve loved to stop by Long Island for a few hours to check out your system, but we were on a family trip to visit our oldest son on a tight schedule. I live in Southern California, and I  would also like  to have others listen and give their opinions on my system, because you’re right, it’s usually just me listening (my wife listens but isn’t into the sound quality as much).

I have friends and family who drop in and listen for a few minutes, and while all of them are impressed with the sound, they can’t quite articulate why they like it. So, I’d also enjoy fellow audiophiles to listening and give feedback. I’m in Long Beach, if any of you are locals or passing through. Hopefully the private messaging will work.

Not sure why you hang around this language-based forum?

Well, I do relate to your conundrum. It's funny, I have vehemently enforced, to my kids, not passing out personal info. and addresses to total strangers on the net. And here we are, inviting each other in to our homes without any scrutiny. Only the verification of a love for music and gear.  frown
