I hate when this happens

One of those nights last night. For whatever reasons, real or imagined, the rig was singing. I went down at 11:30, “Only for a
couple tunes.” Went to bed at 3. Alarm at 5:45 was rude. At least I was in bed before the sun was coming up as often happens.

Have double insulated walls in a room built for music and am retired
Can blast any time of day or night.
And yes, my wife claims I’m going deaf too.

What’s  that you say?
My wife told me that if I bought one more record or piece of audio equipment she'd leave me.

I kind of miss her sometimes ...
Widowed, retired, and living with a rural population of under 300 souls. "I didn't know" is what I find myself uttering between songs. Entering my third year of hedonistic saturation. Open all night.
Headphones and headphone amps have gotten much better and make listening a pleasurable experience. However, speakers are certainly the best way to listen.
I find myself pulling all-nighters fairly frequently lately by my own planning.
Hey guys, that is what retirement is for.  My wife works days, I can listen to music all day at whatever volume I want.  Only problem is that funds to buy equipment are now more limited.
I could only play music at a reasonable level (to me!) when my brother left our house. He complained that it was too loud and couldn't hear his TV! He too would flick the light switch! And threaten to pull the circuit breaker for my room!
I love those nights, but it's the 4.50 alarm that never sounds quite as good. It would seem that the cure, for me, is beyond my mortal grasp.
yesterday night almost same i watched Beasts Of No Nation and listened to STUNNING music of Dan Romer.
@wideload ,
Yay!! You have all the time in the world today to enjoy your music. Have as much fun as you can, dance as much and treat yourself. But don't exhaust yourself so much that you cannot treat your lady properly once she is back. Enjoy your music!!
Now you are speaking my language.

Why is it that family members don't like full on bass or orchestra from 40 feet and 1 or 2 stories away.  I mean, it's not like they can hear it like I can.

My team has a signal; they turn the light switch on and off repeatedly as a sign to turn the music down.  When everybody's away, the lights just flicker because I am drawing so much current... from my 15 amp dedicated circuit :)
Spouse out of town.

Those days are too precious to waste at work!!

I don't stay up all night listening when the wife's away, but I take a few vacation days and just crank it up and enjoy!   ;^)
What you have for a couple of days is what I have, and do, almost every night. System always sings, and I'm lucky enough to be able hear the music the way I wish to without disturbing the wife or neighbors. Makes my days pretty short, but that's the best part of every day.

Regards,
Dan
Milpai that was part of the seduction. Spouse out of town. No limit to volume. And nonoise I couldn’t find enough caffeine. Took a quick nap instead of lunch. I’ll be back at it tonight as she’s gone one more day
When you're on a roll, enjoy it. At least there's no hangover or other penalty for staying up so late, but if you're still groggy, there's always coffee. ☕️

All the best,
Nonoise
This is a good sign! You are in audio heaven :-)
Yeah, your spouse does not like it - I get it.
