How many of you streaming?

How many of you streaming Qobuz, Roon etc find yourself skipping through songs? Do you find yourself listening to an entire album start to finish?

I like the playlists put together by the vendor. When I find a new artist I like there is an option (play artist radio) then I get similar artists and songs. I also like DJ mixes on Mixcloud.

I have no problem listening to a whole album streamed.  I just select an album, put down my tablet and listen till it's over.  Sometimes I'll read about the album or read the lyrics while listening.  And sometimes I find an album I've selected doesn't fit my mood and I'll switch to another.  But, in general, I don't skip around a lot.

I think some people are just too used to flipping around with their phones or other devices.  They just need to learn to put the devices down.

Yes. Typically the entire album. I am an album kind of dude 😂🤷‍♂️.

I stream Qobuz, Tidal, my owned ripped / downloaded music, via Roon, and sometimes via Innuos Sense

I enjoy being able to listen to full albums.  I have a few dozen I like to listen to.  There are lots of songs that the rest of the album is not worth listening to.  these end up on playlists.

There are very few albums that I find myself listening in its entirety. And this has nothing to do streaming….what I do love about streaming is our ability to create playlists. I have over 60 playlists that are ranging from 45 min to 6.5 hours.

I stream Qobuz. I virtually always listen to whole albums.

I have streamed on my main system for twelve years or so. I was always hopping around. The reason was my streaming (and CD) leg was not musical and fulfilling. I worked over the last five years to bring my digital leg up to the quality of my analog. Now… I just can’t get myself to change to another album until I finish it. I listen to stuff I never thought I would like. Completely glued.

If you’re surfing, it is probably because your digital system is not engaging / musical. Work on that leg required.

Depends on the album.

To be honest, if I am trying to gauge what a new artist is like I will listen to the first song and see if it grabs me. If it does, I will finish listening to it. If it doesn't I will still skip through a few other songs just to see if they are any better.

I can get bored easy, especially if the music lacks dynamics and thoughtful lyrics.

I probably listen to 15 seconds of 100's of songs over several hours. If they don't interest me in that short of time, I go to the next one. Most all new music doesn't get saved or listened to again. I usually go back to what I'm familiar with.

That’s all I do day after day after day. I love it I’ve never listen to so much music ever in my life. Totally commercial free and exactly what I want to listen to. I’ve even started to fall in love with some of the music that it serves up on its own. It’s amazing some of the choices. It makes my love. Summer OK very few I don’t like.

When I am enjoying music I know, I typically listen to full albums or playlists I’ve constructed. But about 30% of the time I am in “discover” mode and play a single song, letting Qobuz form the rest of the playlist for me. I’m usually pretty impressed by a number of tracks it selects for me, but I tend to listen for a bit and if I like it will save the album into my favorites for later.

I shuffle my entire library and listen to most every track that comes up. It’s my library so all stuff I like. I will use Roon Radio to launch me into new stuff on qobuz sometimes. Sometimes I play an entire album but albums are a very 20th century way to package and listen to music. Most releases don’t justify it. I like to be surprised what I hear next most of the time. Was always a big radio fan and now one can create their own playlists or listen to others made for you in so many different ways. Life is good!

If I like whatever I'm hearing I'll listen until something else happens in my life that needs attending to. If I have to wait to the next day to continue listening to the album I'll certainly do it.

In the main, though, I'm not a fan of computer-generated playlists. The playlists seldom seem to be generated by a knowing host/deejay. It's usually just inferior, sound-alike stuff from the same genre.

Sometimes I bounce about, sometimes I don’t.  Most albums have a lot of filler songs.  Not all can be good and the newer ones seem to have a LOT more fillers in these days of streaming.

I’m about 95% vinyl, with the rest a combination of CD and streaming.  Either way, I almost always play an album start to finish.

I stream with Qobuz.
No longer with Tidal

And I have began to buy digital albums with Qobuz.
I want to build an audio library.

I have Lumin X1 and I just learned that there is a Lumin L2  .
It should be better than my NAS

I use streaming for background music, or aural wallpaper, but I still prefer listening to albums in their entirety because otherwise Qobuz will start throwing a bunch of music I don't like out there. I like streaming for the convenience, especially for headphones at the gym type of listening, but I have yet to experience any kind of emotional impact or connection to music from a digital source. Fingers crossed!
