FREE - THIEL CS 2_2 to a Good Home

Very good condition, except  one significant chip out of the wood veneer (maybe 1/2" x 1/2" ) on top of one of them.  Light Oak finish.

You can find a Stereophile review online - mostly positive.

Requirements - you need to meet me near Rochester, NY for pick up.  No shipping.

That is a very generous offer you have made. I hope someone takes you up on it and shows appreciation.  I gave away a bunch of free stuff here, even paid for shipping out of my own pocket and got 2 thank you’s out of 8 items given away.  I hope people are kinder to you.

@stereo5

Appreciate it, but not wanting anyone to feel self conscious or obligated.

I can admit the market for some of this stuff is non-existent and if they smile and pretend they love the product for 5 minutes during the transaction, that is all I need.  :)

@rop45 ,

Good on you sir!
I did something similar awhile back with a "wounded" integrated I had. Someone  came over to buy a stereo rack and while listening to my system, I mentioned the integrated and he offered that he was handy with a soldering iron so I just gave it to him to see what he could do with it.

Truth be told, I was glad to see it go after the last two years.

All the best,
Nonoise

Are you moving on to a different Loudspeaker brand? Or, moving up to a modern Thiel Audio speaker?

Happy Listening!

Helios Speaker Kit from Meniscus Audio

KIcks A$$!    I started a thread on here with the same name that has some good information and opinions

Hoping this will be end game for me.  hence the jettison of any second choice gear.

@nonoise

good job to you as well!

its fun to know the next person places value on the same thing you did...

lordy rop45, that is a titanic generosity on your part, sure wish i lived near there. that speaker would be worth it for me to invest in better upstream components for. i have a baby set that i'd love to use as rear channels to these.

My commendations. My experience and most probably many others is that we continue to purchase gear and we are left many times wondering what to do with the old gear that is still working perfectly, but has been stranded by virtue of our desire to upgrade. If we have the means to move our systems forward, perhaps we also have the means to be generous to those who would love to enjoy the items that once gave us a great deal of satisfaction. I think I've heard the term 'pay it forward' or something like that. Usually when we give to others it comes back to us eventually in the most interesting ways.

In my younger years i wanted these speakers so bad and could not afford  them. I eventually began crossing audio equipment off my bucket list. I think you are going to make someone very happy. Have a great day!

This is the kind of thing that me think there is hope for us after all. it's also making me realize the "treasure trove" of old obsolete black boxes and monkey coffins in my basement aren't going to buy me a private island for retirement.

Wow...what an offer!  They're perfect for a beautiful young music teacher with the voice of an angel.  Sent you a message. 😎

I live in Syracuse and could come and get them this weekend. I would love to hear how they sound compared to my Klipsch collection from that era (LaScala, Cornwall, Heresey, Forte). I would also never sell them, I pass most of my stuff off to family and friends anyway. I'm not sure how we make contact through this site tho.

Just a side note, selling speakers on line  is hard if you don’t have a local “market” for these things. They are heavy, large and difficult to ship. So if it’s not a local pickup then it’s very difficult to sell. Case in point, I’m trying to sell Two B&W floor standers, which I can’t fathom shipping anywhere so they are “Local pick up only”,

How very generous of you. If things don't work out with knotscott, you can put my name on the list. I live in Rochester, SE area.

This is the kind of thing that me think there is hope for us after all.

Yes it happens once in a while. Great move @rop45 and for all who acted the same.

Good for you! This place must have softened up. I posted an almost identical post several years ago on a set of RTR speakers and instantly started getting complaints that this was not the place to post classifieds, even if they were free. Told me this was a "discussion" area only! LOL

Such a lovely gesture @rop45 ! Also, thanks for taking me back to the mid/late 80's when I thoroughly loved my new CS2 speakers driven by an Aragon 4004 and CJ PV10 (mentioned for the synergy). Enjoy your good fortune, @chief4425 !
