Qobuz and Tidal comparison
Qobuz sounded more detailed and organic on my systems based on the same tracks at the same volume levels. Cancelling Tidal and going with Qobuz was a no-brainer decision.
I Sold my CD Player!!! Streaming sounds so incredible!!!
Streaming is awesome and so are CDs for me. There is...one thing that can make it better...and in some cases much better. You do need a CD player and a low-cost disc.  Ayre, which is a respected high-end company, came out with a System Enhancement...
Has a Power Conditioner Improved Your Sound?
Most of the power conditioners I've tried have produced a positive result. The one exception was Richard Gray's Power Company products. I pretty much went all in with this product line and could never get the results I was looking for.  There was ...
HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SYSTEM IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS
@lalitk You and Your Friend has become one of those 'I just have to hear it one more time' type of songs for me. I listen to Qobuz and it does a great job with this recording.
Does it have to sound good for you to like it?
Like almost everything, it depends. If it's background or on the go music, then I'm not so critical. If it's a set down and listen, then yes it has to sound very good, or I feel I'm basically wasting my time.
When Was The Audio Golden Age?
I think the 'Golden Age' was when The Absolute Sound Magazine entered the scene. There were so many discoveries being made, people finding out that there really was something beyond their table radio. Interesting personalities bringing new ideas a...
Audiophilism is a hobby
I'm guessing that most of us have some favorite cuts that we use to measure the performance of our system (s). When we hear new things in the music or have it presented in a different way that seems more pleasing or realistic then we get a satisfy...
Where was the best reproduced sound you ever heard?
Well, if you've been an audiophile for 30 or 40 years and you've upgraded your components a few times, worked on the acoustics of your room, been incorporating best of the tweaks available, collected or have access to the best source material... ...
The time has come and I request advice...
I would say, keep what you have and buy some high-end tweaks. The Tweak Geek can give you some professional advice or let me know and I can set you on the right track.  Tweek Geek - High End Audio Store, Dripping Springs Texas
Jim Winey (Magnepan) has passed away.
The Magneplanar 1-Cs was part of my first high end purchase. Spent several years trying to find the perfect placement. On the right night with everything seemingly dialed in they were magical. Winey was part of the pioneering group that put this ...
Your greatest high end audio purchase!!!
This an interesting post. A walk down memory lane. If I had to narrow it down to one, it would be the Dunlavy SC-V speakers. Had them over 20 years and still enjoy them now as much as the day I purchased them.
Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best,
@judsauce  Couldn't agree with you more. I have managed to incorporate almost every model of Dunlavy(s) in the various systems throughout the house. I have been to several Audio Shows and there are a lot of impressive speakers. Many do some thing...

new to streaming- help!
Punt Tidal and go with Qobuz.
New to Streaming
Had Tidal and Qobuz and could do a direct comparison. Qobuz was the clear winner. The Zen Dac is a good starting point.
