Haven't been a DJ for 53 years. Famous piece. Opposite of desired. I'm looking for ochestral ensembles playing rock with or w/o the band. Not so much just sweetening the mix. Not synthesized arrangements of classical tunage. Thanx anyway.

Totally familiar with Lighthouse. Not exactly orchestral. Horn arrangements were never in the league of Pankow. They turned down Woodstock. I prefer the Lighthouse album by Billy Barber but not for this p/l.
Lighthouse...11 Piece band out of Canada late 60's-Mid 70's. They were an orchestra...Strings/Horns/Woodwinds etc (Somewhere between CHICAGO and BS+T in Sound)

Great Italian prog band, Banco, did an all instrumental album called "Di Terra" in 1978.
It is one of the best integrations of a prog band and an orchestra I've ever heard. It doesn't just sound like a rock band fronting an orchestra. They play as an integrated unit with the orchestra.
And it's also not just orchestral arrangements of previous band material, or pop, or mainstream rock. It is modern sounding, fully realized orchestral music.

Metallica - Symph. & Metal another good one. So is S & M 2. EC only released 3 tracks with orchestration on 24. I already found 2 Floyds (one short of a brewery) that I already have. All I'm looking for are Symphonic rock covers or an orchestra playing WITH a rock band. Or at least interludes that serve the song as in The Moody's. NOT classically trained songwriting OR studio arrangements.

petg60 Yes to Symphonic Live. They did an obscure Studio album shortly after. They started their shows in the 70’s with taped orchestral. Firebird. Thanks
