"How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia has always been a song that takes me back immediately to my first love. I like others who have commented cannot choose just one favorite. Every decade produces a few stellar songs that reach out and grab our heartstrings. |
Two Out of Three Ain't Bad by Meatloaf. I know it's been played to death over the years but every now and then I'll sit down and really listen to it. It's a beautiful song of unrequited love. I have a 180 Gram 1/2 Speed Master Audiophile Vinyl copy and it sounds fantastic. |

"My Cup Runneth Over" by Ed Ames. From the Broadway musical "I Do! I Do!". Composed by the same team that created "The Fantasticks," Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones (no relation to the British singer of the same name, thankfully). Ed Ames recording reached no. 8 on Billboard in 1967. |

I am one of these people that just cannot name my one all time favorite song no matter how hard I try. There is just so much wonderful music out there that it is too difficult for me to pin down one song. |

Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass's version of "I May Be Wrong (But I Think You're Wonderful)" |
Anyone said "Bell Bottom Blues" yet? Somebody must have. |
Well, this changes all the time for me, and I don't have the time to think about or research songs I've forgotten. I'll just say that "This Life" by Bruce Springsteen is very, very good. |
New York City Serenade, Bruce Springsteen |
'Starless'- King Crimson. |

Maggie Mae by Rod Stewart |
The Flame- by Cheap Trick |
"I Will" by the Beatles comes to mind. |
The first dance at our wedding: Jose Feliciano "Lover's Vows" is my favorite for the significance of the lyrics. For the beauty of the sound, I enjoy LeAnn Rimes "I Need You" |
"Hangin' Out With Me" by the Supersuckers.
Wish the guys would play this at my wedding, if it ever comes to that God willing. Yeah, at my wedding in spite of a few lines in the song.
So simple, so rockin'. Sums up LOVE like no other song I know. We should all be so lucky ;) |
For me it does very from time to time, Id have to say David Bowie's letter to Hermione from his first major album Space Oddity |
"Given the dog a bone" ACDC |
Rpcoins - For a rippin intro you might give a listen to Sweet Jane on Lou Reed's Live Rock n Roll Animal. |
Ghost of a chance by RUSH. |
I Will Not Let You Down, by Don McGlashan, on Warm Hand. It is a bit OTT, but can be very affecting. |
I hope someone was cynical enough to have already included "What's Love Got To Do With It" by Tina Turner, or "Love Is Just a Four Letter Word" by Bob Dylan.
But I'm a sentimental cynic so I would also vote for "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" by Van Morrison (mentioned above by Digsmithd) and add "Time After Time" especially as done by Miles Davis or Cindy Lauper. These two songs seem to apply not only to romantic love but also to the love and affection of family and friendship. Those are things even a cynic can get behind.

"I don't care about you" by Fear |
Schipo I also love the Bunny Berigan original of "I can't get started with you".
Years ago at MGM Studio in Orlando I went on the Tower of Terror ride and this is the song they play in the rather 30's style hotel lobby (waiting area) of the ride. I wonder if they still do? |
Love Song - Third Day
I know it's a retread that was mentioned by yr44 back in 2005, but I felt it needed another mention as it says it all. |
