I miss Chakster.
I made big changes to my systems in the last 2 years. I joined Audiogon to seek help and am always thankful to the many members that give their time and effort to share their knowledge and opinions.
Chakster helped in many ways, definitely among those that have been instrumental to my success.

He is in Russia. He was a prolific poster, but his last post was from last November, well before any internet issues in Russia. Don't know why he stopped posting or was suspended.

Chakster was an outspoken critic of the Russian government, even on these pages where politics is not the subject. So I have been concerned that he got himself in trouble for expressing his opinions. At the very least, he may have been deprived of internet access.

I think/hypotesis that was banned because in reality he is an " open " and continuous seller, through the Analog forum threads, that did not follows the Agon advertisment rules. The true only Agon knows.

I just contacted him on another forum, hopefully all is well. If I hear back from him I will post an update. Who knows whats going on there, crazy times we live in.

@billwojo Please do update us. I never bought anything from him..but i certainly considered it. He has a deep knowledge of the various Grace cartridges in particular. Additionally, any critic of the Russian government is a friend of mine…

Just heard back from Chakster, he is well, but suffering because of the events. All commerce in or out for him is halted, no way to transfer money anymore.
He said not to try and contact him on this site, he can't reply. He is on Vinyl Engine but has not been posting lately, just not in the mood for music or his beloved hobby. He is chakster45 over at that site.
I miss his contributions here, he was one of the posters who had a good grasp on things. Seems like one of the regulars lodged a complaint to the moderator and that got him banned. Shame on you! We might not all share the same opinions, have the same financial resources or live in a society that favors individual rights but we all have the same love for this hobby.

He's been suspended. And yes, he is out spoken, I sure hope he doesn't do/say something that gets him in trouble over there. At least when I'm mad at my government, like I am now, actually really pissed they don't cart me off never to be heard from again.

The Russian people are wonderful, I know many. The last two centuries have trained them to be fatalistic. They are the ones who have to stop Putin and we can all pray they get up the courage to do it. We are held hostage by mutually assured destruction although watching the performance of the Russian military you have to wonder if Putin can still even get an erection.
Chakster will probably be allowed back in in time and he'll tell us what the Russian public thinks of this mess.

200 years ago, and longer ago, was the heyday of the Czars. The vast majority of Russians were virtually slaves to the nobility. It’s a wonder to me that their revolution had to wait 100 more years after Napoleon.

Maybe to a forum that permits him to put on sale what he puts on sale with out pay the advertasing because other that what all of you posted he is first than all a seller. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe for that Agon banned him due that that personal " marketing " goes against Agon forums policies.

Not here. I for one have been concerned about him, since on occasion he was a vocal critic of the Russian government, at least on this forum. And if he was politically active, he might have been in danger for expressing his views. I said as much a year ago on this thread.
