Joshua Davis / A Miracle Of Birds
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Never owned any Heart...heard plenty of ’em on the radio back in the day. Always impressed by the vocals, like Uberwaltz says. But only knew them through those FM hits and those probably don’t do justice to the depth of their song-writing skills. Mistral that Nutty just turned me on to being a case in point, I think. Anyway, right now, Elton John’s Honky Chateau (immediately after listening to Tumbleweed Connection). Not a huge EJ fan by any means but do like a lot of his early stuff. Well written, great arrangements, excellent musicians. Sonics on this "The Classic Years" edition CD are good too. Favorites: Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, Hercules (A cat named Hercules). |
bd24, I believe it was slaw who introduced Mary G. to me. She is a very compelling artist. uberwaltz, I agree with you on the Counting Crows, August and Everything After. I have it on CD only, but it is a fantastic recording. Solid through and through. I'm a big B. Joel fan as well. Caught him and Elton John together on tour in Louisville some years back. I love Elton's music very much but Billy stole the show! This morning, Ryan Adams S/T N |

Thanks for the recommendation, @arcam88. I'm probably repeating myself. Only heard their hits. Never owned any of the LPs. Will do some more listening at the least. Tidal doesn't have too much of their earlier discography (which is definitely what interests me). Spotify has quite a bit although the SQ is not as good as Tidal. Guess I'll have to suffer with that ;-) |
