Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

It's been a Brad Mehldau day. I'm now on Disc 4. 10 Years Solo Live - Brad Mehldau (Piano)
Nutty.
Some great British 80,s bands along the lines of Crowded House.

Tears for fears, Talk Talk, Simple Minds, The Thompson Twins , Ultravox, the Police.
To name just a few.....
uberwaltz,

Thanks for the heads up. I'm familiar with most of the above. I own some of The Police and Tears for Fears. I don't recall Talk Talk or Ultravox.

I ordered Crowded House, Alone Together and Woodface, (Deluxe Edition) last evening. After a quick wiki search, I learned Crowded House was formed in Australia/New Zealand.

I remembered Simple Minds, "Don't You", a classic and "Lies Lies" maybe a few more when I go digging into them.

Right now, Kansas, Song for America

I mostly listen in my car for R&R as I can crank up the volume versus home where I mostly listen to piano, three piece Jazz with SAX, vocals and stand up bass!

Nutty.
And I am huge Marillion fan! Love Fish to death!

Funny but true story.

We were going to a Marillion concert in England in the 80,s sometime.
Walking down a dark alley to the club it was in. Saw this hulking figure walking towards us in army fatigues and blacked out face.
We pooped our pants as we thought we were goners!
As he got closer we saw it was Fish himself.
We all laughed so hard when we explained, the thought of him being terrifying had never even occurred to him as he was dressed as he would be for "Forgotten Sons".

And yes it was a great show!
Just for you Nutty, well for me too.

Real to Reel .. Marillion.

Vinyl, Dutch Pressing

For me Market Square Heroes is their best live song ever. Its just so upbeat and gets the crowd going every time, you can’t help but boogie in place to that synth lick!
Apologies to Gustav and Leonard...

Make way for some fairly recent (2017) Robin Trower, "Time and Emotion"

Track 7, You’re The One....

TT set-up listening session last night
Pinback - Blue Screen Life
(Thanks to Pokey77 for turning me on to these guys a few years back)

Prog here (track 8)

ABoneCroneDrone - Sheila Chandra (vocal drone, spiritual)

Part of a trilogy comprising of ’The Zen Kiss’ and ’Weaving My Ancestors Voices’ which are more ’mainstream.’
On vinyl,

Mott The Hoople, “Mott The Hoople Live”
Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble, “Soul To Soul”
Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble, “The Sky Is Crying”

Mott The Hoople Live is one of the worst sounding Live album I have ever heard.  It required +3db bass boost just to make it listenable. Thank God for Tone Controls on the Mac preamp.
