Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Turntable is finally back up and running. Amps are freshly rebuilt. Time to have some fun... Dropped the needle on Marian Hill Act One, the bass hits on the entire side 1 are amazing. Actually had my neighbors knock on the door asking me to turn it down because there chairs were shaking across the floor. |

pops, We’re talking close to 20 years ago, What I remember most about Days of the New was that while the music was great, they were very under produced. They were promoting their first albumn and they were very "raw". The lead singer was grungy, played very aggressively and was barefoot. The songs sounded like the CD but they didn’t have much stage presence. The drum kit was not even elevated. But overall, I like the them live. N |

Today I have been listening to Rainbow - Black Masquerade, Led Zeppelin - I am gonna Leave You, Bob Seger - Blowing Against The Wind and The Fire Inside. Then I went further a field and Listened to Diamanda Galas - The Iron Lady, what a song and what a singer. Then on to Sains Sans - Dance Macabre and onto Richart Wagner - Siegrfrieds Funeral, that is a piece written by a true musical genius. Then on to Sibelius to his last movement of his First Symphony, not his famous stuff but for me this piece of music has a certain resonance with me. |
Close the night with Retrospective3....Rush. Been listening to these guys since 74, remember wearing a copy of 2112 out in 76 in the student common room! I know a lot of love for Glenn Hughes here but top of my mental list when I think bass players comes Geddy Lee, I mean he plays, sings and plays keyboard with his feet ! Alex lifeson also vastly underrated guitarist Neil peart....what more needs be said about one of the very best drummers in the world |
