INXS "Listen Like Thieves" (lp)
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Just purchased a new set of speakers ! Lit them off with Eagles Farewell Tour and Pretenders Live at LA . Both on Blu-Ray playing in 5.2 .. Rock On .. Someone mentioned Pat Traverse . When I picked out the new speakers there was a PT shirt/jersey hanging in the store. I told the guy if we buy speakers the shirt goes too.... LOL .. Its hanging here ...... |
bdp24, If only it would be released on vinyl. Working my way through my new/only copy of Santana "Lotus" (lp) Jap./MFSL/RTI. Mudcrutch "2". I don’t recall reading anywhere here about this lp. I’m sure glad I finally bought. Strong, very strong IMO. In fact, highly recommended! He just kept getting better............ (lps) @kjweisner, I hope you have the QRP version of "Laid Back"...the absolute best version I’ve heard. Cheers! |
The Cranberries "Everybody Else is Doing it,....." After around a 25 year wait, I finally have this one on vinyl! The label is Analog Spark. This isn’t your typical sounding, somewhat sterile, somewhat in your face, ’90s sounding vinyl either. Very smooth and analog sounding while keeping enough dynamics/transients to really make this one special. Inviting, involving, and (enticing). I had to get one more "ing" in there. It has SOUL! |
@slaw I have compared the vinyl to tidal streamed version. The vinyl wins hands down on all fronts. The soundstage and imaging is much more defined. Just comparing say drum strikes, the vinyl really sounds like a drum(full and vibrant) whereas the tidal sounds more sterile. Bass also feels more natural and strives lower imho. I may have to order that cranberries album from their label too. |
Unplugged..... Alice In Chains I have a lot of cassettes and I play back through a Nakamichi582. Like vinyl quality of recording can be a mixed bag. This mix on cassette ranks among one of my better cassette recordings. The vocals and acoustic guitar are real standouts. Not sure how many others here still play tapes...... |

@slaw - Saw your post from 1/13/2018 regarding The Cranberries - "Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we?" on Analog Spark LP. I've always enjoyed that album, but only had it on original CD. Put it in my Amazon wishlist yesterday and woke up this morning to the news of Dolores O'Riordan's death. Went to Amazon to purchase the Lp and it had gone out of stock. Ran over to my totally awesome LRS - Plaid Room Records in Loveland, OH and they had a copy waiting for me at the front desk since I had called ahead. Anyway, really sad news regarding Ms. O'Riordan. I've always liked The Cranberries sound. The Analog Spark reissue is fantastic. Much better than my old original release CD. Thanks for the recommendation. |
Fleetwood Mac, Rumours Depression and misery at its finest. arcam88, ordred a copy of the Triumph, In the Beginning disc you recommended. I had it on cassette years ago. Attended their show in Norwood Ohio. effischer, Bennet/Gaga is amazing. I mentioned that one earlier on this thread. Excellent recording. N |
Nutty, Too bad the Gardens had to be torn down. Was a nice old building. Beautiful facade. Also housed 2 sheets of ice used by youth, high-school and college hockey and figure-skating programs, covering the Greater Cincinnati Area, UC and Xavier. Was a great loss to those programs. I spent many Saturday and Sunday mornings there for youth hockey with my son. I hope they do something productive with the site. |
