Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Elton John  "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"/DJM pressing. Perfection?...pretty damn close!
The Band covering Dylan's, "Blind Willie McTell.
Sets an appropriate tone given the recent departure...

"Well, I heard the hoot-owl singing
As they were taking down the tents
The stars above all the barren trees
Were his only audience...."

Brand X - Morrocan Roll

I missed these guys first time around.  Some great music and sound even though recorded 40 years ago.
@jafant, the remastered Karajan 1962 Beethoven Symphony cycle CD/BRA boxset came out in 2014. They have the matching artwork as the original 1962 LP boxset (which I also own).

The whole 9 symphonies now fits into one single Bluray Audio disc compared to the LP boxset which I estimate weighs around 5lbs!

I got mine from Amazon.

There is supposed to be a SACD version too but I am not sure where to find. Some online has proven that it is the same remaster as they matched the Bluray Audio content bit by bit.

jmpsmash-

I like Karajan as well. Where did you purchase the remastered version?
Avail on CD, SACD or Both?

Happy Listening!
nutty-

is your Rage Against The Machine -the 20th anniversary remaster?
Happy Listening!
Suddenly wanted to listen to Karajan's 1962 Beethoven 9th/5th/6th after not touching them for a while.

I also discovered the disc with the 3rd on no longer load on any of my CD players despite visually check out OK.

Just ordered the remastered version. Cannot live without the 3rd.

Rage Against The Machine, S/T- Remastered....The statement "no samples, keyboards or synthesizers used in the making of this record" can be found at the end of the sleeve notes. Amazing. Tom Morello is one of the greats. The recordng is a masterpiece, IMO. Even the CD cover is remarkable.

paul mccartney, no other baby--an absolutely killer cover from the otherwise so-so run devil run.
centro-matic, love you just the same--very melodic, smart pop vaguely on the order of jayhawks or richard buckner; the principal one of the great unsung songwriters in this americana-ish genre

Fleetwood Mac  "Future Games"
Aerosmith  ""Rocks"" & "Toys in the Attic"
Ozark Mountain Daredevils  "Men From Earth"
Guided By Voices  "Do The Collapse"
The Perfect Circle  "Mer de Noms"

all lps
I agree -loomisjohnson.
Bowie left us w/ a modern masterpiece. Ryan Adams and Radiohead are always excellent. Happy Listening!
ryan adams, prisoner--not a great record, but you gotta admire his ability to crank out quality songs at such a prolific rate (this is something like his 20th record since 2000 + he has a trove of unreleased stuff, b-sides, etc.). saw him live not too long ago and he's grown up alot--he's not a snarky punk anymore, for which i give just due.
bowie, blackstar--i'd sorta tuned out bowie since low, but gave this a spin  out of respect for the departed and was surprised at how good it was--droney, progy, uncommerical--not that far removed from radiohead or early roxy music.
City Boy "The Day the Earth Caught Fire"
Great album from a very under-appreciated band!
Bob Dylan/The Band: Before The Flood. A 1974 live recording of Bob and The Band's first tour together since his 1965-6 world tour, when they were named The Hawks. They had just finished recording the Planet Waves album together, and The Band were smokin' hot, Dylan full of p*ss and vinegar, absolutely spitting out the lyrics. Electrifying!
Analog FM Radio via a MagnumDynalab MD 100 tuner.   FM 94.1 in Rhode Island.   Very relaxing.
KATA’A KABANOVA by Leos Janacek LPO/ Andrew Davis .
DVD on Samsung 55" Plasma heard thru Pangea 201 Amp and Sennheiser 650’s .
John Mayer, Live in L.A.  The guy may be a dick-head but he sure can play!!!
B.B. King, Deuces Wild
Featuring: Van Morrison, Tracy Chapmin, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Dr. John,
Marty Stewart, The Stones, Joe Cocker, David Gilmour, Willie Nelson
