See my 3/15/16 post in this thread (not to mention my avatar). |
I did The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots on red, German Vinyl. I think this is their best album and sonically this record is amazing. Just picked up the reissue copy on red vinyl and have been extremely impressed with the sound quality of this pressing for not a crazy price, $22. It was my 7th and 8th run thru this record in 3 days. Kenny Dorham - Quiet Kenny on AP 200 gram vinyl. This is such a great performance and the sound quality on this 33rpm Analog Productions version is one of the best in my collection. It is incredible. I really didn't know a lot about him when I picked this up and Holy Smokes am I glad I did. I have listened to this copy about 25 times in the last few weeks. Also Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West on newly reissued vinyl. This is by far their best record but I am not overly impressed by the pressing I picked up. Honestly I never had this one on vinyl so nothing to compare it to but digital but there is a pretty good amount of noise between the tracks, but the album is so great anyway. |
+1 Mattmiller. A classic.
|
Songs in the attic is a great album, gets much playtime at my house. But mine is regular 33rpm single l.p. variety. Never heard of the double 45rpm but sounds interesting indeed!
|
Billy Joel “Songs in the Attic” Mobile Fidelity double 45RPM. Such a great album! |
In response too your mention of Robin Trower, have you heard the albums he did with Jack Bruce from Cream?? B.L.T. is one of the titles I highly suggest you check out!! Awesome vocals with Robins licks!

@gerdessc,
No problem. There is no bad record that he has ever been involved with, IMO.
For a milder, more introspective..check out his Swell Season records. For a good mix of mild,soulfull stuff check out his solo stuff. For a more rockin’/intense experience check out The Frames, particularly "Fitzcaraldo". His latest.."Between Two Shores" is no let down. Very Good!
Then there is his tribute to Jason Molina.Excellent! in every way His collaboration with Eddie Vedder,..damn good!
|
@slaw. Don’t have a record of his, but Moving On has been in the Tidal rotation. |
@gerdessc,
Cool! Which record are you listening to? Are you familiar with his total output? If not, I may be able to help....if you want.
Steve
