Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
I will also continue praying for your sister Joel.

Finishing up Holger Czukay box set from last night
Guided By Voices  “Bee Thousand”  Scat 2021 (reissue)

Shellac  “at Action Park”  Touch & Go 1994

Charles Brown Superstar “Days Of Our Drive/Sweet Piece of Ass” WIN 1995
@mammothguy54, sorry to hear that about your sister Joel.  That’s rough.  I hope you can find a way and she will let you help.
Put the Luxman L-550A II back in its box until I can build a bedroom system around it and reconnected the 7 and 8b while cleaning the last of my meager record collection with my Degritter.
Such a very different presentation. Initially I was missing the Luxman, but they shine in their own
way.
The old Marantz gear now reminds me a bit of Dean Martin, it slurs a bit, but it sure can sing.
The Luxman has better diction.
Anyway…. While cleaning records, I put some aside that I’ve not listened to for a while.

Tonight’s varied list….

Jimmy Smith / Back At The Chicken Shack
The Beatles / Revolver
Pink Floyd / Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floyd / Wish You Were Here
Jackson Browne / Late For The Sky

on cd..

George Jones / 50 Years Of Hits

thrive

I like the description you made of your gear @sourpuss123. Very unique and effective.
@spiritofradio,

I have the Dylan mono box. I love it. Comparing to some of my MFSL mono lps, they are more open and "modern’ sounding, where the mono box sounds more of the era. The vinyl and pressing quality is great. I recommend it. It’s really a great buy I think.
in arrears: Krall - Live in Paris

Eagles - Long Road out of Eden ( server )

The bass impact should set ya back on heels…
Just a quick check in with a little New Orleans flavor:

Jon Cleary   Dyna-Mite

He recently performed at a small venue/bar not to far from here as the kickoff of his first tour in over 1 1/2 years. So much fun to attend with about 200 others.

FYI - Uber is doing fine.  He was over Saturday listening to some tunes and checking out some recent changes.

Good to know, thanks. Tell Kevin we all miss him on this forum, especially.
CDs tonight so no posts apart from this on LP.

Martin Stephenson And The Daintees ‎– Gladsome, Humour & Blue (Kitchenware 1988)

Bought when it was released. A collection of superb soft folk blues songs of outstanding originality. A masterpiece but for one thing—the recording is not the greatest on vinyl.
Found a few good ones at an estate sale yesterday, including a sealed “walking two eye” 1968 Columbia Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison.
Something tells me Neil Young Live Rust 1979 Reprise is a good set to follow Johnny.
Arrived today (finally!), cleaned and spinning.

Neil Young / Tonight’s The Night
Thin Lizzy / Jailbreak

And…… texting with a sweetie from my high school days.
Ahhh… the power of music, lol
45 RPM reissue of Norhing is Wrong by the band Dawes. Sounds surprisingly good considering how raw a recording it is.
The Smiths: Louder Than Bombs

Just ordered:

The Smiths
Strangeways, Here We come
The Queen is Dead
Lol, @tomic601, she’s a whole nuther habit unto herself. We’ve seen concerts in Seattle, DC, Atlanta, Phoenix, Balitimore and New Orleans together.
Anyway…. I digress.

Oh, and @slaw thanks for the kind words.
Thin Lizzy RAWKS!

Up next on cd

Robyn Hitchcock/ The Man Upstairs

carry on….
About my last pick - Yes - "Going For the One", I’ve always liked the music, especially "Parallels". But I’ve always felt the sound quality is a jumbled mess. Spent the big bucks ($50, what can I say, I'm frugal) for the Japanese pressing, hoping for the best SQ. It is only marginally better than my original US copy.
Joni M - Blue

Jim, I swear Joni was in my living room tonight while playing that.
Brian - your play of it inspired me. With your new preamp, Joni may come forward and throw YOU the roses… ha
Tom - I agree, typically my cutoff is $30 for a Japan press vs $20. domestic… Feat Sailing shoes an exception….
Rickie Lee Jones - It’s Like This

IMO worth it for the Steely Dan cover of Show Biz Kids….

I love It's Like This Jim.  The entire record is very good, but yeah, she kills it on Show Biz Kids.
New arrival,

Squirrel Flower "Planet (i)"

Been looking forward to this one
Greg - Thanks for the great period press of JD Souther - Black Rose. Good progress on foot with some miles to go - celebrated by playgrading some LP to send to Perfect Vinyl Forever. ( review forthcoming )

Valerie Carter - Wild Child ( domestic vs. Japan )

JD Souther - Black Rose ( PP vs Reissue )

Exhausted after the 5th day of working over a warehouse and office building.  Love the posts guys.
Thanks for the response on the Dylan box Steve.   Sounds worthwhile.
Hey Kevin.
Dead - American Beauty ( Anniversary remaster ) Some low end grunt…easy to FEEL the pocket…..
