Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
The Who - "Live at Leeds"

The complete 33 Track Set. Deluxe Edition. 3xLP, Abby Road Half Speed Master.

This is a GREAT record!
Bob Marley & the Wailers / Legend
The Rolling Stones / Hot Rocks
Ramones / Ramones
Sonny Rollins / The Bridge
Crosby, Stills & Nash - S/T, Japan pressing. Unfortunately there is a nasty skip towards the end of Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. This one is going to have to go back.
Reubent, I agree, it is one of their best. They are a great weird (kind of) little well known band, IMO.

Oneida / Romance

Ammonia Avenue……good stuff!

“Is there no sign of light as we stand in the darkness?
Watching the sun arise
Is there no sign of life as we gaze at the waters?
Into the stranger’s eyes
And who are we to criticize or scorn the things that they do?
For we shall seek and we shall find Ammonia Avenue
If we call for the proof and we question the answers
Only the doubt will grow
Are we blind to the truth or a sign to believe in?
Only the wise will know
And word by word they handed down the light that shines today
And those who came at first to scoff, remained behind to pray

Yes, those who came at first to scoff, remained behind to pray

When you can’t hear the rhyme and you can’t see the reason
Why should the hope remain?
For a man will be tired and his soul will grow weary
Living his life in vain
And who are we to justify the right in all we do?
Until we seek, until we find Ammonia Avenue
Through all the doubt somehow they knew

And stone by stone they built it high, until the sun broke through
A ray of hope, a shining light, Ammonia Avenue”

..."she thinks mercy is overrated"..
My system, at this hour, is sounding better than ever!!!!

The center stage is perfect, the speakers have disappeared, the balance is perfect!!!!

Jeff Beck – Blow By Blow (Epic 1975)

Odd one to start off a Sunday morning. Such a mixed bag musically, it's intriguing.
Tony Duster Bennett - Justa Duster ( Blue Horizon 1969)

More like it. A thousand times better. Studio + live sides. Tragically killed in 1976 at 30 in a crash.
Recommended if you like it rough and drunk.

"saw him playing as a one-man band, playing a bass drum with his foot and blowing a harmonica on a rack while strumming a 1952 Les Paul Goldtop guitar given to him in 1968 by Peter Green."
It fizzled away and was no big deal.

Mixed reviews on the NY & CH. SQ weak and no live banter?
R. Strauss, J. Strauss, Charles Gerhardt, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – Il Cavaliere Della Rosa, Il Pipistrello, Lo Zingaro Barone (RCA 1976)
@mapman I think Ammonia Avenue is a little under-rated.

Coltrane - Jazz to start Sunday morning.
Schubert, The Hallé Orchestra conducted by Sir John Barbirolli – The 'Great C-Major' Symphony (Seraphim)
Last night...

Roxy Music  "Siren"  Great album.  I don't know what happened to my original copy, it's just missing.  So I bought the reissue.

"Katanga"  the Tone Poet issue.  This is just fantastic, I mean, WOW!   I'll be listening to this one many, many times.

Pink Floyd  "The Final Cut"  Not their best album, but certainly good.  You need to close your eyes and let it take you.  Vinyl is dead quiet and SQ is truly outstanding.
Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, Igor Oistrakh, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, David Oistrakh – Concerto In D Major For Violin & Orchestra, Op. 3 (Musical Heritage Society [1966 Russian])

Beautiful violin on this superb version.
The Byrds - Sweetheart Of The Rodeo. Columbia reissue 1972, originally 1968
