Allman Brothers Band - Eat A Peach. Capricorn reissue mid-70’s, date unknown

This album, mastered by B Grundman and heavily influenced by Levon Helm is SO good I could never understand how they didn’t sell more records and break through.

If you don’t have this, it’s easily found for a few bucks. You can thank me later.
The Beatles  'Srgt Peppers'  Japanese import.  Crappy SQ, what a crying shame.

Atlanta Rhythm Section  'Champagne Jam'  Darn good album!

Carole King  'Tapestry'  MoFi Original Master Recording.  Excellent album, fantastic pressing.

Dire Straits  'Brothers In Arms'  Phenomenal, as usual.
@j_husker,  Thanks for the recommendation.   Just what we like around here.

Will end up the evening back to classical. Another ‘new’ arrival today.

Juilliard String Quartet : Arnold Schoenberg - The Five String Quartets. Columbia Masterworks 3LP box 1977
@mammothguy54 Joel, I just received a big pile of Japanese imports from rarerecords.net today.  Sgt. Pepper was among them. I hope I have better luck with mine than you did. I also got Atlanta Rhythm Section Underdog. Champagne Jam is a great record!
I really must mention this exceptional porchetta and Sonoma Chardonnay.   Probably calls for something Italian on the stereo but I’m not going to let it bother me tonight.
@gpgr4blu  Yes indeed, I saw Summer of Soul this past weekend.  It was fantastic and I am so glad the video was resurrected.  I'll have to play my DVD of Woodstock sometime soon.

@big_greg  please do let me know how your Srgt Peppers album sounds.  Mine is standard black vinyl and is dead quiet.  The packaging is outstanding but the SQ sucks, very thin with no real depth of warmth.  Very disappointing.
James - temps warrant a nice Chardonnay, like an idiot - I have a Boomtown Syrah open - out on deck watching sun go down - windows open - Tom Petty blaring
Joel, I liked mine, but it does have that "Japanese EQ" if you want to call it that. It was super quiet, but a little on the "bright" and "analytical" side. I wouldn't consider it "bad", just different.
Speaking of The Cate Bothers: On one of Levon Helm’s post-The Band tours the brothers were the core of his band. Levon was at the time recovering from his throat cancer surgery (heavy smoker), so wasn’t singing. The Cate’s filled in, as did Levon’s daughter Amy. I saw the show at The House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, and Levon’s drumming that night was the best I ever heard from him. Genius.
Ok this new Rhino Deja vu is really good.  Best I’ve ever heard this music.  Spent a lot for one record and a bunch of see dees but wow glad to have this.
@tomic601 Find the spicy colors of the sunset in a Shiraz and you’ve done just fine.

….and speaking of good songwriting

Thanks @boxer12,

@bkeske, Will do. I just got that Canned Heat lp in as well.

@slaw
That is Anson Funderburgh & The Rockets.
You can’t leave out The Rockets ! with Sam Myers (Died in 2006)
I used to go see them LIVE when I lived in Dallas TX.
They are GREAT! I love Anson’s Guitar playing.
You should try "Change In My Pocket Album" as well as "Tell Me What I Want To Hear", and or "Thru The Years" . albums
@grey9hound,

Didn't mean to leave The Rockets out. I did hear another of their lps at a friend's house but will have to be reminded which one it was. Definitely recommended!
