@spiritofradio... A Farewell to Kings nice! Don’t have that 40th yet

Spinning Hold Your Fire currently.
@geof3  As a package the 40th Anniversary set of FTK is fantastic.   The original album sounds slightly richer than the original to me, vocals may be a little more forward in places (out in the soundstage).  I didn’t get the box with the digital stuff, just the 4 records.   Some real treats in the set.
So, after our recent exchange here I picked up my third try copy of Hold Your Fire on Vinyl.  My favorite LRS, Music Millennium, had the 2016 Direct Metal Master version pressed at QRP for a really decent price.    Haven’t put it on yet but I hold great hope that it will finally surpass the digital.
Tai Shan Baby!

@noromance you have to get yourself there to NOLA sometime....man do i love that place...caught Bryan Lee there at the Old ABsinthe house... there may have been libations...
What is near my turntable, not necessarily on it, is a pristine and sealed original copy of the Colgems Casino Royale....
@slaw I'll get to her eventually. I have some things sitting in the on deck bin that have been there for months.

I put some new (to me) amps and interconnects in my system today and am sticking to familiar material so I get a better idea of their character.
@audiguy85,

Why not give it a spin?  Or if you’re afraid  to, bring it on over here and we’ll put it on my stereo....

made Enchiladas Suisas for Grey’s Anatomy tonight, so...
@tomic601 Some day. Imagine jazz clubbing it every weekend? I've never been there. We used brunch every weekend in a diner dive-bar with great local no-name musicians. Miss it.

Angel, no date, sounds like mono

this is seriously good
Left the new (to me) motor on all night, noticeable difference.

When I bought the VPI, I let it's motor run a solid week before I put it in my system.
What’s cool about the SOTA Eclipse (package) is no more tedious weekly manual speed adjustments per the ADS. Additionally, it provides a (soft start) which provides less stress on the belt.

The improved SQ isn’t lost on me either.

Will probably order an Origin Live belt soon.

Thanks to Bill @Phoenix Engineering for his helpfullness with all of my questions.

BTW, my system is much quieter because of the help I received for grounding.

Sounds great Steve, congrats. I know, eventually, I’ll need to send my SOTA in to get a tune-up and newer motor installed. I check my speed every other day or so. Not a huge deal, but would be great if it was more consistent. With your set-up, as I understand, it does the work for you. And, it has improved the sound of your VPI. win win 👍🏼
Been meaning to play this set for the last few days, as I have not spun it for a while.

When your system is quiet... you’re on another level.!

May not notice until the noise is gone.
