Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Just g-whiz Spotify tonight. Working, so not really paying too much attention!
I just ran thru both Warfield discs and there are significant mix differences- I would call it a wash - disc 1 more acoustic with air and space, harmonics ( and fret noise ) but with a lack of punch and vocals not at best level. disc 2 not as subtle but much better vocal level ( but as is typical of Dead weak in spots), bass articulate and in pocket. Not as much spatial information especially with percussion - much more Pianonin mix may be driving that. The acoustic guitars have much better low end body on disc 2
keeping them both !!!

Oscar Peterson / Stephane Grappelli, all four sides :)

Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen was such a beast on bass.
50-60 year-old recordings of Leonard Pennario doing Gottschalk's "Banjo", Poulenc's harpsichord concerto, and Hugues Cuenod doing Italian troubador songs.  Was there ever a sweeter sound than Cuenod?
Won't be much time for music this weekend.
20th wedding anniversary and away to enjoy the time.
Keep up the great work here and everywhere!

uber, You've only been married for 20 years? Man you're still in the honeymoon phase, surprised you have time to listen to music at all!!! Happy anniversary uber. Treat her well & she may let you stick around for another 20 years. That is as far as my marriage advise goes. :-)
boxer,  He's got 3-4 systems in their house........I'm in no position to give any advice other than Keep on Truckin'
The Donna’s "Bitchin’".   Say what you will but The Donnas can F%@$ing rock!
5 systems in 2 residences and 30 years in August. Apparently as rare as the mythical unicorn hot stamper !!!!

no marital advice other than an old Jazz / Blues standard: “ it’s cheaper to keep her “
The LP showed up today..from Scotland...

Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman and the Ravens

@boxer12,

Check out the Eyelids lp I mentioned above. Already on my "best of list".
Purchased the joe Satriani 180gm 5 song ep
greta price, sound is good through audio lab into my computer, to record to a cd.

Happy purchase, as the first song of the ep was lost, or damaged?
on the cd version added as bonus stuff on a cd.

the ep has the first song, which sounds good, how is it the cd version said the master tape was damaged or something,,,,,
?

And this ep versi N is fine?

.....bueller......... Bueller,.............

Was the song “talk to me” from the ep re-recorded? For the RSD release, or was the original song used?
Is it different from the initial ep pressing?

 Thanks
Radiohead  - King of Limbs  - great album, vinyl quality is AWFUL, almost unlistenable
