@big_greg  @slaw and All who support Plaid Room Records, Thanks. This is my local record store, in nearby Loveland, Ohio, just about 10-15 minutes from me. They are really great people and I appreciate having them here.

Stopped in today, for FOMO due to Greg's comments. Picked up one new record off of the "new releases" mailer:

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - "Deja Vu" 50th Anniversary Remaster

Have an old, wreaked copy. Finally springing for a new replacement. Managed to walk out with only one album. Maybe a first...

Radio Birdman / Radios Appear
1978 Sire

Aussie punk rock, indie rock, garage rock, proto-punk, surf rock?

The Bottles / S-T
1979 MCA

Too bad they only did one album, good stuff—power pop. It’s hard to get past “Look At Julie” without a replay.

Szell conducts Haydn - Haydn Six "London" Symphonies. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 3LP box 1973

The Plaid Room new releases email arrived this afternoon and I only ordered two records.  Patting myself on the back for restraint.

Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducts Bach - Brandenburgische Konzerte Nr. 1-6. Concentus Musicus Wien. Telefunken / Das Alte Werk 2LP box 1983, German release

@sbank You could be right! Although, I know @slaw expressed an interest three years ago. Not sure if he bought into them.

sometimes I think we’re First Aid Kits only fans.

"Alice cooper - School’s Out. Nice reissue from Friday Music. Has the fold out "desk" and the panties."

@big_greg - LOL, 70’s style Record marketing at its best!

Liars / Sisterworld

Mehta conducts Wagner - Orchestral Music From "Der Ring Des Nibelungen"

  • Entrance Of The Gods Into Valhalla
  • The Ride Of The Valkyries
  • Magic Fire Music
  • Forest Murmurs
  • Dawn And Siegfried's Rhine Journey
  • Siegfried's Funeral Music

The New York Philharmonic Orchestra
CBS Masterworks, 1983

Alice cooper - School's Out. Nice reissue from Friday Music. Has the fold out "desk" and the panties.

Been away for a bit, hope everyone is doing well.

One of my top 50 all time tonight:

Cake - Fashion Nugget. This is the European version that someone (Spencer?)  recommended. It sounds so much better than the first one I got.

Mehta conducts:

  • Scriabine - Poem Of Ecstasy, Op. 54
  • Schoenberg - Transfigured Night, Op. 4 (1943 Revised Version)

Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. London, 1967

@noromance sometimes I think we're First Aid Kits only fans.

+1 on early Joe Jackson. All those albums stand up well over time through Body & Soul. He was great live then too. Saw him on the pier in NYC. Acapella Is She Really Going Out With Him encore...it doesn't get much better than that.

Getz - Clef/Norgran Studio Sessions - great music - with Rob Brookmeyer - IMHO a VERY underrated player and arranger

Mehta conducts Bruckner - Symphony No. 9 In D-Minor. Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. London, 1965

@dayglow

Joe Jackson from 1979-89 was nearly flawless with content and recording SQ.

I think so too, have several of his LPs but sorta lost interest after Blaze Of Glory (1989)

@bslon +1

Joe Jackson from 1979-89 was nearly flawless with content and recording SQ.
