The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Odyssey reissue 1970’s, originally 1958

A couple of weeks ago we were discussing the reissue of Talking Heads, 'Speaking In Tongues'.  It's back in stock now at Acoustic Sounds, as of today.  The SQ is excellent on this recording and the vinyl quality and pressing is also excellent and quiet.  At least, my copy is.  And I tend to believe that is the case, in general.  This is a really good one and a good value price, too at $24.98.

Hope this helps.

High I am in a yes mood Fragile and Close to the Edge. Question has any one listen to the new half speed master of The Who's Tommy done at Abbey road studio?

frankie miller, high life-- overlooked white soul belter who clearly influenced rod stewart and bob seger, though i think he's a better singer than either. does pretty well with the songwriting, too.

elvis costello, the delivery man--for my money his best post 80s record, mainly because he tries harder to be a rocker than a crooner

willie dixon, i am the blues--it's curious he never shows up on the GOAT songwriter list. i generally prefer his takes on these  classics to the heavyhanded doors/cream/zep covers.

Van Morrison / Moondance
1970 Warner Bros.

Fabulous album, content, sonics, everything. A reference disc here and a ‘go to’ when visitors ask me to “play something”. It can’t always be Aja! 😎

Led Zepplin / Presence
1976 Swan Song

Kinda freaky pics of people posed with a mini-monolith adorn the jacket and gatefold. Not my favorite LZ album. Better SQ on Houses.

Not listened to through counterfeit cables.

Lyle Lovett: Live In Texas.

GOD BLESS!

Silly mistake on my part.

Wynton Marsalis Trio

Nope, Wynton Marsalis Quartet. And this is really good.

@slaw

Nice Steve. I’ve tried lower (470) with the MIMC, but 1,000 brings out everything. Lots of punch, and as you say, everything is ‘bigger’.

Still wish I had an option for 850, as I have a feeling that would be about perfect.

Have fun with further experimentation.  A Freya+ ?  That should be interesting, many like it.

@bkeske

Brian, I finally put in another resistor, well actually I'm using a supplied jumper to give me 980 ohms which was your first suggestion and it finally made sense to me to try the highest value and listen for a while to hear (that) difference then make any other changes later. System was off since Sunday and just been on an hour but the soundstage is wide and the music is extended like I was hoping for. More to come hopefully. Got the Freya+ in and some vintage tubes, so excited for future listening.

Just arrived, an unopened original pressing. Got a very good deal on this via eBay.

Amazing how far a little adrenaline (and Oxy) can carry you, and I definitely had some adrenaline flowing when I opened that Hana box!
