Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
James McMurtry and the Heartless Bastards - "Live in Aught-Three"

I love this record. If you are a fan of Americana or Alt-Country and/or you love "gee-tar" driven live recordings, check this one out. It has an authenticity you don’t usually get from more mainstream artist.

At a minimum, its worth checking out on Youtube, Spotify or whatever you use to stream/audition new (to you) music. If you love it, buy the double LP. The SQ is very good, the performance is excellent, and it is a good value. Comes with a free digital download coupon too.
Avalanches-“Since I Left You”

Re-release. Outrageous! Goosebumps.
Playing this on my Pro-Ject RPM10 with 34 yr old Grace F9e and brand new OCL stylus from Sound-Smith and 34 yr old back-up BELLES pre as my Rogue Magnum 99 is at Rogue for upgrade.  I had not heard from Avalanches for so long until about a year ago when the re-release came out.
My studio is only 10 feet deep- near-field Focal speakers. I heard in-phase music coming from behind me!  That was  a surprising and shocking first.
 Fantastic pressing.

Bentunderground
War- “Why Can’t We Be Friends”
Test pressing of “ A Tribute To Woody Guthrie”

Patsy Cline  - Greatest Hits  - Analogue Productions 33rpm 200g  - pretty outstanding, slightly bright

@krelldog loves me some Bridge of Sighs, great album and wishing I had never sold off my pristine copy of it years ago. Have it on CD but you just reminded me I need to find another good copy it. Hello Discogs
Bob Welch - "French Kiss" again...... I forgot how much I liked this record.
Stones-Exile on main Street
Blind Faith-Blind Faith
Dire Straits-Dire Straits-1st Record- one of the most underrated records of all time. Fabulous content-incredible recording.
Jefferson Airplane - "Surrealistic Pillow" Friday Music 180G Pink Swirl Vinyl
Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio - "Live at KEXP"

Funky Organ Soul Jazz - Good Stuff
@slaw - I finally got around to checking out Sarah Shook & The Disarmers - "Sidelong". I have mixed feelings about it. I think it could have been seriously EXCELLENT. However Sarah seems to be enamored with squeaking/squealing at the end of too many notes and also doing some kind of weird rat-a-tat-tat/warble thing at the end of some words. I don't know why she feels the need to do those things so often. They are distracting IMO and the songs would be much better without those embellishments. Get rid of those distractions and I would give it an A+. However, the vocal distractions drop it down to "novelty act" for me.

Your thoughts?
Today, it is:

- Karen Dalton - In My Own Time
- Giovanni Pergolesi - Stabat Mater
- Richard & Mimi Farina - Memories
- Sandy Denny - The North Star Grasdmen and the Ravens
- Paul Robeson - Live at Carnegie Hall
@reubent ,
I noticed what you're talking about but I'm just not bothered by it.
I've noticed the same thing with Brandi Carlisle as well, to a lesser degree.
I think it makes them even more unique as an artist.
Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon”. Have to listen to it every six months or so to establish a baseline. Just found a Winchester pressing mastered by Wally Traugott at my LRS. Nice sonics.

Promo copy of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention “Roxy & Elsewhere”... with one of my favorite Zappa songs “Penguins in Bondage”
Finally sorting through stuff I bought on a trip to Boston.  Got some nice Cajun and Zydeco.  Just finished Clifton Chenier and His Red Hot Zydeco Band “New Orleans” and moving on to Canray Fontenot and Alphonse Ardoin “Les Blues Du Bayou”.
Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring
Buddy Tate /Al Grey - Just Jazz
Lydia Loveless - Who is Lydia?
Roy Harper - The Unknown Soldier (orig Harvest)
Purcell - Ode on St. Cecilia's Day (Archiv London 1969)
Willie Dixon  - Willie's Blues  - Analogue Productions 200g 33rpm,  freaking awesome, I will own everything they press
Califone "Heron King Blues"

@6t5-gt0,

Miles Davis  - Relaxin' - AP 200g
Lightning Hopkins  - Soul Blues  - AP 300g, so great

@slaw thank you, Sir
Cart is definitely broken in and sounding great and I have been listening to a bunch of my Analogue Productions stuff lately and it just sounds so friggin incredible on the new table. Still very happy with it
Chuck Prophet "Temple Beautiful"  slightly sterile but the music makes up for it, IMO.
Gerry Mulligan meets Ben Webster  - AP 200g 33rpm  -  phenomenal SQ, dead quiet vinyl, great performance, stellar
Welcome @mhart032,

Up next Johnathan Wilson "Rare Birds".

I own two JW lps, "Gentle Spirit" and a RSD 4 song,12"/45rpm that includes "Isn’t It A Pity". I’ve been a fan ever since but I’ve let his work since, slide. Some of you may know he's been collaborating with Father John Misty. He moved from Wilmington, NC to Laurel Canyon a while back. I picked up "RB" (his latest, 2018) recently...."All songs recorded and mixed using the Studer A-80 mk. III master recorder" "Rare Birds" was mixed to ATR Magnetics 1/4" tape on the Amperex ATR 102 tape deck". "RB" vinyl laquers cut by Chris Bellman @ BG Mastering" Well, I think you can see why I have high hopes for the SQ. Here we go...…...

Regarding the "JW" lp…..I’m finding it to be, not at all what I had expected. (I guess between his first lp and his latest, & with all of his time with Father John Misty and two of his own lps in between) I should not be surprised. The SQ is great upon first listen. This is one lp that will require multiple listens to evaluate properly and I’m up to the challenge. I’m hearing some of "A Deeper Understanding"/ The War On Drugs, and a hint of Peter Gabriel in the mix. Very interesting.
Then comes side 4.
