Slaw: you are about to get jealous. I still have my original press of Grievous Angel. I have a couple more presses. Near mint. I have almost the entire Gram Parsons catalogue. I saw Gram Parsons with Emmylou Harris and the Fallen Angels at Upstairs at Max’s Kansas City in the spring of ... 1974 if memory serves. Six sets over three of the five days he performed there. On the middle day, second set, he brought his friends onstage: Linda Rondstat and Dave Mason. I was sitting in the front row each night. A friend worked the tables downstairs in the restaurant and got me in for free through the backstage door early. The front row was practically in the performers laps. I was no more than 6 to 8 feet from all the action. I saw a lot of great shows there. Those were the days. Long gone. 😢 |
This has gotta be a candidate for the Guinness book of Records world’s longest thread. OK: 1 - Karlheinz Stockhausen - Stimmung (Deutsche Grammophon) 2 - Philip Glass - Music in Similar Motion / Music in Fifths (Chatham Square) 3 - Brian Eno - Ambient 1 - Music for Airports (Polydor) 4 - Edgar Varese - Deserts (Angel) 5 - Hamza el Din - The Water Wheel (Nonesuch Explorer) |
