What/who do you listen to that you feel is a bit of an unknown?

It would seem that part of this audio addiction...er, I mean hobby, is traveling the road less traveled.

That said, I am listening to a Karla Bonoff CD that has given me much listen enjoyment over the years.

Just off the top ...
Shawn Phillips
John Klemmer
Flim and the BBs
Checkfield

Many more. Looking forward to others ideas.
tgrisham , Since I own every John Klemmer CD ever made and had them on records before, I should qualify.  My younger brother had seem Mr. Klemmer live a few times.  Flim and the BBs, yes and from the early days in Madison, Wi.  Free Hot Lunch.

whatjd,
If you get a chance, check out the music threads in the forum. There are a lot of relatively unknown artists mentioned there.
Enslaved - a great Nordic black metal band that have been around for 20 years!

Azam Ali. Csme across her album "From Night To The Edge Of Day" in a used shop and thought it looked interesting.

This album and her entire catalog have been staples in my house ever since.
@bgoeller I just sampled From Night to the... on Qobuz and then tagged of her albums to listen to tonight.  The brief sample sounded extraordinary. Thx
@tgrisham +1 on Checkfield. Picked up their Through the Lens back in the 90s and it's never let me go.
@roberjerman

Tom Rapp/ Pears Before Swine - late Sixties psychedelic rock! "Balaclava"!

Oh man, I thought I was the only one ;-) I think I have all their albums on vinyl, and at least one Tom Rapp single album.

Good choice Mapman.

But surely Mangione is fairly well known?

I think I have 14 albums of his total, lol.
I wonder how Chuck Mangione became a returning guest on King Of The Hill. Anyway, I was alway's a fan of CM.
Rory Gallagher just received my 3 CD set Blues forget Clapton forget Stevie this set is it 1 CD acoustic, 1CD electric and 1 live all played incredibly. This is a bargain under $20 the mastering and mix put you there a must for all blues lovers.
Gary Moore.
When he plays blues and doesn't sing. Very soulful expressive guitar.
Khruangbin. All three albums. Sort or world music/ambient/Thai funk/Texas. Not the sort of descriptions that would make me interested but I love this stuff for some reason. Seems to be recorded reasonably well. Have not seen any data but it sounds moderately DR compressed but a lot less than most new music.
Shelby Lynne singer songwriter played with Willie Nelson and Daryl Hall. Gr8 on records even greater live.
whatjd, I have a copy of Karla Bonnoff’s first album that pretty much stays on a secondary turntable. Also have a couple of Julia Fordham cds.
I’ll add a one album only band David and David. Some interesting dark music. One of them produced at least one of Toni Childs albums who probably also qualifies in this category.

thanks for the input and suggestions.  I have learned much about artists new to me from A'gon members.
