What is the Silliest Accessory You Have Ever Seen.

I was flipping through the accessory pages at the Cable Company and came up with this https://www.thecableco.com/hallograph.html You have to be kidding me. Of all the dumb, idiotic, profoundly stupid things I have ever seen. The marketing is even better! Have you seen anything worse! It is up to us to uncover these things for what they are, SCAMS.

No mahgister and millercarbon. It is not a joke and I am not the blind one.
Fairy tales are for children. What are you guys scared of? The truth?
The truth is that you men are extraordinarily suggestible. So much so that a cheap little circuit board that does absolutely nothing changes your own sensory evaluation in a significant way. Then you try and rope everyone else into making the same mistake pissing away money on claptrap.
It is you that are the joke and in my humble estimation it is a bad one.
If i read you i am afraid of what you think of my system, enjoying it now?

Many people enjoy the results of this device, but they are ALL deluded.... You are not....

The fact and the truth and the reason why we speak about the devices that can help achieving the improvement, the only fact are the device, not our fear or our belief...Testing it ask for more than your biased test...destined to fail....For the reasons i give to you and you never answer to.... Because in THIS THREAD of yours your goal is not truth but proving your point....

Read yourself before posting and answering arguments i give about your test with only this sophistry about fear...

i am a bit afraid because of your lack of logic ....Like all opinionated people your logic is a circle...

You NEVER respond with any arguments at all.... Except accusing others of delusion by placebo...With your equalizer you are not deluded in any way for sure...

Think about this fact....

Your "estimation" is an insult. It's not humble at all, it's just the opposite.

What's odd is that you claim to be a physician, yet you apparently don't hesitate to diagnose and condemn those you've never even met. Perhaps you are far more "suggestible" than you are comfortable acknowledging.
There is a popular internet meme, with people going in two directions. They comes across a cross-roads, and they have two choices of answers, "Simple but wrong", and "Complex but right".  Most "tweaks" are the equivalent of "simple but wrong". Raise youe cables, buy a $5.00 Schuman generator, pay $20K for a cable, puts caps on your RCA jacks, even many equipment swaps. These are all simple, but wrong answers in audio recreation.  Taking the time to learn about acoustics, how to measure acoustics in a room, actually treating a room, doing double blind tests to avoid bias, assuming you are wrong when you hear something .... these are all complex things, and hard, but they are right.  Look at the picture of people's systems here. 90% have no acoustics. 95% have inadequate acoustics. Most of those won't have any DSP correction to fix the gross frequency response issues. They have the audio equivalent of a "hot mess". Sure it looks good, and it sure is purdy ... but don't take that home with you.
Most "tweaks" are the equivalent of "simple but wrong".
Your post is right for the most part...Most underestimate totally the acoustic, which is for me more powerful than MOST upgrade at ANY cost...

But remember that if a "tweak" cannot solve all problem, a set of listening experiments for 2 years with many devices can solve some... Even if it is unorthodox like using cheap S.G. and many, many other devices...

Dont jump too speedily to conclusion....

My room look like a mess by the way... But my sound did not sound like a mess.....And the reason is NOT my particular choice of gear....

😁
@cleeds , yes, I am a physician and have to deal with human lunacy on a daily basis. But right now I do not have my physician's coat on and none of you are my patients so I can let it fly. I apologize if that upsets you. But, I will no stop either. Every time I see this kind of claptrap I will call it out for what it is.

@audio2design, well said. Thank you.

Instead of wasting money on worthless trinkets save up for a calibrated mic and impulse measurement program and know for sure what your system is doing. You want to make your system better. Go listen to the best. Have a target to shoot for. Know what is possible. Identify the defects in your system and learn how to correct them. What exactly are you fixing with a Schumann Resonator? The answer is , you have no idea. Every system has problems and in most cases they are unidentified because most audiophiles are running blind depending on their hearing which is a big mistake.

You haven’t upset me, not even a little. Yes, I know you claim to be a physician. Based on your behaviors here - which reflect ill logic and where you’ve been suspended from the group at least once for attacking people - I don’t believe your claim. It’s your problem if that upsets you.

Perhaps some of the lunacy you "deal with on a daily basis" is your own.

My S.G. dont fix anything.... They add something completely different...Nothing else will add...If the conditions are there for the effect to be audible on the first place ...Half of all peoples room at least, unbeknownst to them have a very high noise floor in the 3 working embeddings dimensions of their audio system... And they cannot know directly by listening nor estimate the level of their own noise floor ... Your equalizer will not reveal that to you sorry....

My ionizers dont fix anything they act on the molecules of air....

My acoustic controls devices and the passive material treatment fix my room...Not the S.G. and the ionizers...

My 18 Helmholtz finely adjusted Pipes and tubes for example correct the relation of the speakers/room FOR MY EARS and WITH MY EARS and each ears being structurally specific, they work in a way an equalizer can do...Acoustic is not reducible to equalization with a mic...Even if it is useful to use a mic for sure...

Same thing for my other acoustic devices...

I will use a mic this summer to refine all my devices workings for sure...

One set of measures dont contradict another sets if the ears guides us...

What you call a subjective defect or BIAS in each different ears is the ONLY tool with which each of us we can listen to anything...The tuned and controlled room in relation with the source of the sound(the speakers) is like an acoustic device in the ears of an half deaf person, the apparatus works better tuned for his particular deafness... The room in the same way must be tuned for specific ears not only for specfic speakers...

My Helmholtz grid and other devices are created by my ears and for my ears....

Anyway all that worked so much well my system is completely transformed and the cost is peanuts...All my devices COST almost NOTHING and are homemade...

Calling that "snake oil" is bad faith....

You cannot call that placebos either save by bad faith....

I sell creativity.... What do you sell?

Equalizers?

Prejudices against something you will never experiment and dont want to ?

Your test is a joke...

Anybody reading your thread and arrogance will know for sure that you will never admit to be wrong... Especially with a "stupid" device like an S.G.

You will prefere calling all others who succeed to perceive an audible effect to be deluded....

The only problem here for those who listen the effect and those who cannot is not the presence of delusion or not but the 3 noise floors of their environment : mechanical, electrical and acoustical...

Before condemning people to be deluded by a collective placebo effects that struck only a part of the population, it is more wise to enquire about the noise floor in audio.... But these rational attitude will certainly be out of your "square mind" opinionated mind...

If you are a scientist i am a cactus.... 😁

Science is first an attitude and ethic of the mind process...Not a diploma... Your attitude look like religious zeealots ...Scientism and religious zealots are brothers of the same blood....They all are crusaders....

@cleeds , If I did not grate on you cleeds you would not be responding this way. Yes I got suspended for attacking outright stupidity.  Out of my professional role I guess I have a temper. I have it under control.
I'm sorry you and I can not get along.
Mahgister, you are incredible. All your stuff was created by your brain for your brain. Your ears are just along for the ride. But, whatever makes you happy. Do get the microphone. That will teach you a lot.

I already know that.... I am not a crusader against mic feedback...Like some other crusade against windmills or against products they even never experimented with...I am creative not a crusader....

Read me "accurately"....

By the way i am a passionnate... Dont take too personal my answer to your posts....

Ear and brain are always a unity in music and sound perception...It is not so simplistic like the alternative: "the brain fool the ear seeing a costly amplifier between the test", or "the perfect acuity of the ear detect the audible alleged effects"...

The line between phenomena located at different levels are not draw once for all by us....

What news with your blind test mijostyn?

I am surprized by the absence of the definitive proof of the "deceptive" "big lie" associated with the S.G. ?

I am sure that the test has been cancelled.... It cannot be positive then with no news about his revelatory negative answer, the only left answer is his cancellation or a postponement....

But perhaps i am wrong, it was positive and you dont dare to say it here.... It will nullify all your attitude and thread.....Anyway.... i dont need the blind test....I am "blind" myself is it not ?....
😁😊
mahgister, right now I have no system, I sold my loudspeakers and my new ones are due to be shipped tomorrow. They are Soundlabs 845s and have to be shipped by freight ($1297.00!!) I doubt I will see them for two weeks. My wife also used this as an excuse to redecorate the Media room. She has me making a bar, three stools and a new equipment cabinet/record rack all in Walnut ($12.50 board/foot). She has painted the room a dark blue and is replacing the carpet. I have a 1929 Mason + Hamlin Parlor Grand piano that has to be moved, My new Sota Cosmos Vacuum table has yet to entered production and finally I have additional wrist surgery scheduled for the 19th of March because three screws loosened. Don't hold your breath but I will get to it I promise. My son in law will run the test on two friends that are music buffs. As I am hopelessly biased and considered by many to be an a--hole I will go out for a ride during the test.
Mahgister, l like better sound quality just like anyone here. If Schumann Resonators make my system sound better I'll buy a bunch of them. It is not my style to lie about such things even if some people like cleeds think I am a liar. Is that projection? I don't pull punches.

First i apologize for my sarcasm going to far...

I am sure you are honest ,only biased, but we all are.... Some more tough, and perhaps me, why not? ! 😁

I am sorry for your necessary privation  of music and for this  wrist problem.... I hope all will come back to normal for you....

I apologize sincerely..... You dont need my sarcasm in these changing times...

I hope the best for you and your family.... And nerver mind our different perspectives and histories we are also friends here and not enemies...

I wish you the best from my heart....

Butt they work. As does the EnABL process butt you’ll never try them because you would need to remove the books of numbers from either side of your ears. Those books can slow down sound transmission as well as imagination and creativity. Tom
Are those any different from the Ground Enhancers offered by EVS for $30/pr., or other similar products?

We identified the causes of the problem a polarity of shear. Bud Purvine in his 1991 patent addreses this with a cure not knowing then that it was shear wave on both sides of and thru the cone material.. Bud now believes what causes the issues on a moving cone is a Raleigh wave that does contain shear and compressive waves. The returning polarity of shear creates interference when it collides with the next wave launch.  Buds patent is just over 30 yrs old and only a few today know the reason why it works. If you dont understand the fundamental cause then you can"t find and apply the right cure. Cuts on speaker cones is only one answer of many. If engineers were aware of the cause then there could be more applied answers not just one. A member of our company has a patent on how to reduce shear wave interference in certain strings instruments. Once this is understood I can see new or better methods of interference reduction in audio components and audio environments. Tom
@theaudiotweak , polarity of shear? I think the problem here is that you will believe everything you hear while audio2design and I do not human nature being what it is. Bud Purvine's invention was so important that nobody uses it although his explanation, blocking the formation of standing waves make a whole lot more sense. It does not work either. Thanks audio2 design for another goofy "Tweak." I can make a pair of those for $10. Nice little antenna. Great for injecting RF into your device!

I have been reading contretemps such as these for years, on this Forum and also on Tweaker's Asylum.  I cannot remember ever even one instance where two guys who vehemently disagreed on the efficacy of this or that tweak eventually came to hold a common view.  More typically, the opponents go their own way in anger, secure in their own set of beliefs.  Every one of us has his own "truth".  Best to leave it at that.  It does not bother me if someone else believes in an "SG" or room equalization by digital means or whatever.  From what I know of physics, at least some of these tweaks are flat out impossible, but I don't care if someone else believes otherwise.  I would be interested to hear the before and after results with my own ears, is all.  Too bad we live so far apart from one another.  In this world, there are other ingrained beliefs that grieve me and concern me much more than the play of audiophiles.
@lewm  Well then, don't get in between Ford and Chevy guys:-)
By definition none of this is serious. We can't punch each other out over the internet. A lot of this is misinterpreted anyway. Expression is missing and it can be hard to tell when someone is joking. Humans were not designed to communicate this way. It may be the reason young folks have become so politically correct. They live on the internet.

Someone else a ways back mentioned this record clamp but I just ran across the ad and it made me laugh!!

Introducing the Shun Mook Record Clamp at the low low price of 5.6k!! Get some magic beans with it too. Oh it also comes with unique powers! All the expensive antivibration devices people use to stomp out vibration and this claims to add some back in! LOL. Only the good ones though.

I got me some nice burl out in the yard. Maybe I'll whittle me up some of dem burls with the Old Grand Dad pocket knife and sell 2 fer one of the Shun Mooker. I'd be one rich sum bich.

"This record clamp is made from extremely rare pieces of dried ebony briar. The extra heavy century old ebony root which were immersed in the swamps of Africa has a unique power that no other wood possesses. The vibration generated by the diamond stylus in the vinyl groove besides inducing an electroflux through the phono-cartridge also excites the ebony molecules, causing it to resonate. This in turn is feed back through the stylus and is reproduced as expanded sound staging, enhanced separation, sharpened focus and enriched tonal balance of the music."

mofojo, Careful. Shun Mook has many true believers.  Not including me.

Take a look at Mpingo dots, if you think the Shun Mook record weight is funny. If better stop there.

@mofojo, SH-T, I'm in the wrong business. For that kind of money I could buy a pile of special burls and make 100 Clamps in a week or so. Then I could buy a Boulder amplifier.
