What do you listen to?

I’m wondering what percentage of your listening time is spent  on new music and what it is on music you’ve heard over and over.

My records and all the people on them are my friends. I don't need any more.

Old curmudgeon here.

99% old music, (1950s-90s).

1% new. Then I realize I don't like it and listen to something old again.

Since I brought streaming sonically to equal my vinyl and CD... new music has been increasingly. Probably 90+% new now.

For me its mostly music I have loved over the years, choosing something I haven't played in a long while and then obsessing over it for days, playing it exclusively,  And I'm not concerned by this, not at all.

Mostly new music...but been thinking lately, that maybe for next 6 months no new music,  and re-explore my huge CD and LP collection...

Repeat music ever decreasing, probably down to around 33%. These days mostly letting Roon randomly choose from my large library which means fewer repeats than I'd likely choose. Library probably around 50/50 between newer and older music. even then most of the older music is cuts/albums I never owned on physical media, so these not repeats.

Lastm is good with this metric

I've spent 56% with new music and the other 44% with repeat music @rvpiano

Almost all of it is music I've heard over and over again, and I'm not proud of it, but a lot of the old sources I used to use to find out about new stuff are gone, and I've just not gotten around to using new ones.

I am nothing if not a creature of habit BUT it's SOOOOO EASY to listen to new music these days I try to spend 1 day a week letting Pandora expose me to new artists & genres...

Most of my time, 99% is spent exploring new music. My favorites list is always changing. I also look for well recorded albums along the way.
