Heavy speakers should be on a pallet, with a wood frame about the boxes.

Label 'NO STACK', 'FRAGILE-GLASS' loudly labeled all sides.

Any idiot in a shipping facility knows if it's speared with a forklift, the company just bought it and your job is toast.

Insure it for it's value; the real one.

Your object, your risk.  Become bullet-proof.

If it's heavy the shipping method should reflect that.

BTW, They Pay for the priviledge....

Would the retailer take them back, maybe with a restocking fee?

Personally where I live I rely on UPS rather than FedEx as locally the FedEx delivery personnel are independent contractors the majority of whom don’t even follow simple basic procedures such as backing into a delivery location which is standard fleet safety protocol. Secondly their delivery dates are a big if. You hang around your house for a day to sign for a package and you get a delivery delay. I had a couple of packages that for 3 days running there were delivery delays and none of it was weather related.

m o f o j o, are you kidding the paradigm persona are so bright and edgy it’s not even funny, that beryllium Tweeter and midrange is awful one of the worst speakers I’ve ever listened to they’re terrible definitely not worth the money that they’re asking.

 

I buy and sell a fair bit. My advice:

Use Fed Ex ground as a shipper. Buy the extra insurance.

Ask FED Ex when you drop the parcel if they think the 

packaging is adequate or if further protection is recommended.

Bring the boxes in unsealed for their inspection. Otherwise your

extra value coverage may be denied if there was a claim.

 

The Paradigm 3s need to be palletized. They are at higher risk

of damage.  Arkansas Best Freight is used by Tekton and Klipsch.

Call them for a quote. $300 is a guess.

 

I have witnessed UPS roll boxes marked fragile end over end across 

the ground to the truck.

 

Last week I bought something from Portland, OR. coming to me in PHX.

USPS sent it to me via Newark, NJ.  Took a week.

Don't use dirty clothes inside the box to cushion the

merchandise as this guy did. Spiderman PJ bottoms

and gym sox. Smelled like a college dorm. That was a round trip 

back to the seller. 

What you keep and sell is your business. Personally

I like the Founders line sound better than the Persona.

I had that experience last week on new pair of ATC speakers.

Buying from them is a better deal than selling. 

You could consign it to them but why?

Your NIB goods will go for about 70% of MSRP.

After pairs of Studio 100's versions 1 and 2, in home auditioning S8's and a dealer audition with all ARC amplification of 9F's.

Get relaxed, sit back, close your eyes and listen to your glistening tweeter then the wafting of the midrange and the fullness of bass as each is doing its job. Like you can almost reach out and touch each driver. That's Paradigm.

I can't do that anymore because I can't tell which driver is doing what until I actually put my ear to within just a few inches of each driver. Thank you eye doh lon's. 

Anything bigger than a few pounds go FedEx and for the speakers, check out some common carriers. My speakers came on a pallet to my front door. 

Disagree. The Personas IMO are outstanding. Finicky yes probably. Just heard a demo and was pretty much gobsmacked. 

All I can say is you are right to sell the paradigm  speakers unless they goy way better in the ensuing  years I had a pair of studio  100s they were there top speaker back in the day and they were awful. They are just another cheap  Canadian  speaker.  

YMMV, I’d be reeeeally hesitant to trust UPS with a set of heavy speakers. 

List everything on Audiomart.  Shipping to be negociated with buyer.  Use a known shipper and make sure everything is insured.  DON'T accept pament by PayPal.  Too many scammers out there.  Insist on payment in your hand prior to goods being shipped.  If you're not in a hurry, the right buyer will turn up in time.  

I’d sell the speakers, the A23+, and the Arcam and upgrade to an A21+ (a much better amp IMHO) and a good DSP like something from DSpeaker to help integrate the subs.  FWIW. 

Shipping: you can transfer the entire process to the buyer.

1. find the closest UPS 'Pack and Ship' near you

 

2. Measurements and Weights in your ad.

3. sellers contact the pack and ship themselves, if proceed, they pay UPS themselves,

 

4. You simply drop the item(s) unwrapped at UPS counter in buyer's name, UPS will be ready. I've done it both ways, as seller, and as buyer.

I’ve had good luck both buying and selling off marketplace. I feel it’s a little safer than Craigslist but I have done that also. 

Try Craigslist and Facebook Market Place. No shipping issues and cash only payments. 

IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOURSELF

(1) You are going to have to sell them off piecemeal. Use USAUDIOMART and AUDIOGON for a broader exposure . It’s likely going to take some time, so be prepared. Some may not easily sell if at all, requiring re-listing.

(2) Regardless that they may be new / near new, be further prepared to take a not insignificant haircut on your asking selling price when compared to MSRP new, if you are serious about moving out the pieces . The biggest mistake sellers make is an asking price out of sync with a reality check on what it will take to actually move them out.

(3) Bulk size items shipping strongly predicates an attention to appropriate quality shippers … think FEDEX or DHL or similar. And now in COVID, it will be expensive.,,,quite expensive… ( see #2 above…It immediately reflects in the all-in-cost to buyer.)

Question: do you have someone local who participates and lists on AGON or USAUDIOMART that operates as an intermediary “broker”? He does the spadework and suffers the hassles for a 20% haircut on selling price ?

alternatively, how about contacting a quality local dealer to ask if that Dealer will undertake to advertise and list them as pre-owned on consignment?
