Stolen property
I’ve listed items that I know little about for friends before.  I’ve also had my descriptions of items I listed pasted onto listings by other people.  Sellers that see a good description feel free to use it.  Lack of knowledge of an item could ind...
Stolen property
I just bought a new bike seat post on ebay for $100 that typically sells for $300. I was the only bidder so it is not a high demand product. The seller joined eBay 6 weeks ago and listed about 200 new high quality bike items…some multiples, so lik...
Subwoofer speed is in the room, not the box
I was surprised to see the REL recommendation on gain and crossover.  I was under the impression that most had the gain set too high.  I did.
Equalizer to compensate for hearing loss - Any success stories?
I was wondering if the sound quality of music is diminished using a hearing aid.
Yes, cables do make a difference -- regardless of price...
@crozbo Thanks for taking the time to write about your experiences.  It was well said and for me you accomplished your goal.  With the infinite amount of variables in audio systems it’s both an art and a science to achieve better sound.  And just ...
Easy Come Easy Go…….BOOM!
Whew!  That was close!  Is your home in a spot prone to getting struck by lightening?  The chances are the same today as the day it happened.
He spent his life building a $1 million stereo. The real cost was unfathomable.
@posbwp55 i thought your comments were well stated and thoughtful. The world around us is our mirror, and judging someone does not define who they are—it defines who we are. More often than not, the things we detest and judge in others are a refl...
Ken Fritz article
@goodlistening64   As I read your comments, I thought wow…before you criticize the splinter in your neighbors eye, you should remove the timber in your own eye. I think the WP columnist knows that a ‘good news’ article doesn’t create nearly as ma...
**Advice Needed**Damage To Imported Speakers**
I don’t think we need to tell OP the lesson he should learn from this. Adding pictures to the post would help.  Has the OP determined what he would like Kronos to do about the damage?  If it was to be covered by insurance with the carrier, it’s p...
Ken Fritz article
Is anyone else on this forum divorced?  Is that evidence of mental illness?  Ken owned his own business, and maybe that was one reason he didn’t take vacations.   We don’t know if he took his profession as seriously as he did his sound system.  At...
Ken Fritz article
Another writer could have taken a different approach to this story and - using the same facts - left us with a completely different set of conclusions. What stands out about it was that Ken was an audiophile.  If he had put his time and money int...
Pleased with RME ADI-2 DAC fs
@jeenam I have the AKM version.  I think it’s the second version, as mine came with the remote with more functions.  I recently tested high frequencies and found that I could hear 2000 Hz, but nothing above that.  My wife could clearly hear 4000 a...
Speaker Spikes - Working Principle
@yoyoyaya  Wow!  400 pounds!  I would guess once you have those on spikes you wouldn’t be moving them around.  Interesting that even with that weight and thin carpet the spikes still were an improvement in sound quality.
Speaker Spikes - Working Principle
I thinking along the lines of @yoyoyaya  I have a pair of tall, thin B & O ‘pencil’ speakers.  I have rubber feet on them as they’re on a concrete floor.  But if I move them onto an area rug, they easily rock and could be knocked over.  I thi...
Did I damage my new amp
Same thing happened to me.  I bought a used RME ADI-2 DAC fs.  I installed it and turned it on.  It was set at very high volume and I immediately turned it down.  Then when I played music I heard some low frequency distortion/fuzzyness/offtone.  S...
