Listening and watching, than watching and listening again for second time and feel it's not enough -- the legendary education video; I think I'm really learning and continuing my education with fun "Teaching and Learning by Leonard Bernstein" -- The legendary documentary oriented to all students and teachers not only for future musicians and far not only for classical musicians! Everyone should watch! It's been quite some time since his absence among us, but he still rocks -- I induct him to R&R Hall of Fame and pronounce that speech on big stage! |

There's nothing left in you that I can live with! You're one of Howard's humanoids, and, if I stay with you, I'll be destroyed! Like Howard Beale was destroyed. Like Laureen Hobbs was destroyed. Like everything you and the institution of television touch is destroyed. You are television incarnate, Diana, indifferent to suffering, insensitive to joy. All of life is reduced to the common rubble of banality. War, murder, death are all the same to you as bottles of beer. The daily business of life is a corrupt comedy. You even shatter the sensations of time and space into split-seconds and instant replays. You are madness, Diana, virulent madness, and everything you touch dies with you. Well, not me. Not while I can still feel pleasure and pain and love." -from the film 'network' |
Live BBC Proms concert of Schubert on FM, can't beat it. Do you guys over the pond get Proms concerts on radio. I imagine some public service broadcasters must broadcast it. The greatest concert series in the world, with everything from the most Avant-garde classical to concert versions of Opera and a celebration of Scott Walker last week. Many new works are commissioned for the concerts too. |
