Transparent Audio Digital Coax Cable

I have the Transparent Cable Premium Coax 75 Ohm for about 10 years. Is it logic to upgrade to the NEW Transparent Cable Premium Coax 75 Ohm ?

1Meter length,
Its the same cable level but maybe a different construction.
Using it to connect a streamer to an A/V processor

Thank You.

I would say no, you are not likely to hear a difference with a lateral upgrade with the the same vendor. I would suggest that you try comparable cables from other vendors to see if you find something you like better. Maybe try something that uses silver.

It’s a different cable...if you’re interested call Transparent, and you can probably audition one at home at no cost and decide for yourself if it’s worth it...I have a 5 year old version and it's a terrific cable...

Thanks.
Wonder if AudioQuest Coax cable will be better?

( can’t make an audition)

The AQ isn’t a75 Ohm because of the RCA’s plugs.

Many online dealers offer free trial and return...there are very many good cables out there at all price points...I have AQ and Transparent in different systems...I think the low cost Transparents are often overlooked because of their super expensive cables...

Streamer: Blusound NODE ( planning to replace in the future)

Processor : McIntosh MX123

Streamer: Blusound NODE ( planning to replace in the future)

I would consider upgrading your streamer first, it can make a huge difference.

The difference in Transparent Gen 5 to Gen 6 has been large. I have experienced this in speaker cables, interconnects and power cords. However I have not tried the 75 ohm coax.

Having said that, upgrading it for a Blusound… I would say no. That is a budget streamer, it is extremely unlikely you will hear a difference, and if you do, it may not be better.

The higher the quality level of component the more significant will be the change in sound quality with high end wire. Typically I would not get serious about high end wire until you are over the $2K / component level. If you do, I highly recommend low end Cardas. Cardas takes into account the level of component you are likely to be using them in. The lower end wires are warmer and more forgiving becoming more neutral and transparent with cost.

Transparent are extremely neutral interconnects and cable… really good for high end equipment. They can actually sound bad on low end equipment because they are so “transparent”.

Early on in my audio pursuit I bought a bunch of high end cable for my equipment and could not understand what all the hype was about… they sounded trebly and thin. I threw them into a closet for twenty years. I ran into them again when my system was several times better and they sounded stunning, transparent, great bass (the were Straight Wire). I was shocked… I realized why they were so highly rated… they were great cables and I had low end gear. This is why you have to try stuff and decide, not just buy highly rated stuff and expect improvement.

Also, always replace cables after component upgrades. You want to carefully take into account the sonic characteristic of your components in choosing wire.

Thanks.
indeed helpful advice.
1. I can now buy the Transparent Coax in the USA

so saving the shipping cost to my country.
2. In plan, Upgrade the Blusound to a better streamer.
so the “new” cable will be used in the future.
3 it seems to me that the Transparent cable is superior to AudioQuest

so I’m now in some kind of opportunity to get the transparent

more important, I am using the McIntosh’s internal DAC

not the one in the Blusound ( a Digital connection coax )

The DAC in your McIntosh isn’t that great and the Bluesound Node is actually not a terrible streamer. In your case I would consider getting an external DAC purely for 2-ch listening and for now keep the Node.
But definitely don’t waste money on a new Transparent Audio cable. Your current cable is totally fine within the context of your current system.

I’d also upgrade the DAC first for many of the reasons stated above, then worry about the digital cable later.  Best of luck.

I quite like Transparent

I had theri Reference AES EBU as my cable for some time before I "upgraded" to nearly all DR Acoustics cables

My Reference AES is for sale at a good price if anyone is interested

While I agree with much of Ghdprentice above, I find everything matters. My wife ditched Spotify for Qobuz with no prompting with a very modest system. That said, I’ve never found an Audioquest product to sound as natural as one from Transparent. I would run to replace any component from McIntosh! There are of course many levels of upgrade from the Node. CXN v2, Rose RS250A, and one up to DCS Vivaldi Apex (Rossini Apex is also quite nice). In reality, an Ayre EX-8 fills all my needs, excepting analogue very nicely, without need for coax.

Nice to see that you enjoy the AYRE EX-8.

Happy Listening!

Last thing that I do !
what’s wrong with McIntosh?

I have transparent speaker cables, Power cords and interconnects, very good.

I don’t understand coaxial cables versus RCA. Maybe I did a while back.

Don’t buy the low end range of transparent cables you’ll be happier with the midranges, ie. Ultra.

You’ll be happier in the long run if you spend more money.

I have a blue sound and it’s in a box somewhere

Synergistic research Galileo coaxial UEF 75 ohm the best for my system. Every brand has Difference sounds l
