It was a long time ago that I tried some being shipped here and there to those who were interested. The effect was subtle, and I only heard it in the treble. There two sets sent out, but each one did about the same in my system.
"If I turn my back I'm defenseless
And to go blindly seems senseless
If I hide my pride and let it all go on
Then they'll take from me 'till everything is gone
If I let them go I'll be outdone
But if I try to catch them I'll be outrun
If I'm killed by the questions like a cancer
Then I'll be buried in the silence of the answer (By myself) ..."
all we can do is try to recover the intent of the music by fixing what's there. We only know of three reliable ways to accomplish this result. Drugs, Alcohol or a passive filter...
For once we see an honest assessment of the metaphysics of a tweak by its manufacturer/promoter. To be compared to what you hear if you have been imbibing on too much absinthe or have dropped some acid.
Sounds like something you might put in a tape loop for occasional use. Not all digital sounds the same, so I wouldn’t want a filter in line between the DAC and preamp.
