Switching between 2 amps , 1 set of speakers?

Hello all..if I wanted to switch between 2 amps to my 1 set of speakers guessing the best way is the manual labor way of connecting / disconnecting cables ....is there a switcher that doesn’t degrade audio quality or way to do this using connecting cables from 1 amp to another using some in/out safely? Thanks

Douglas,

I’m wondering:

What experience do you have with switchers such as the ones linked to in this thread, or others?

Or or do you mostly avoid them on priciple?

@cytocycle thanks for pointing to Luxman. Looks like a well built product.

@douglas_schroeder is there no switch in the market that you feel is of sufficient quality?. When testing between amps, plugging and unplugging cables is quite a chore. If you think any switch will add color then I guess there is no choice. Very interested in your insight.
Avoid switchers if at all possible. They are one of the cheapest ways to destroy sound quality.
I use this and it works great.Single ended tho..no xlr

Hi Tommy,
Your problem can easily solve, find tube preamplifier ( ARC, CJ or Dynco Pas- ng) that have two output and multiple inpyt. you can connect your two Amplifier and play.additional info, all external unit like cd,turntable etc.you can connect in input in tube preamplifier.
 Enjoy
Tommy , coming out of the Sony record out will not give you any volume or tone adjustment into the Marantz, but will allow your Sony to be used as a tuner, and / or the ability to listen to anything else connected through the Sony. Your volume will be through the Marantz. If you want some tone adjustment, you would need an eq of some kind connected through the Marantz. I would not feel the Sony worthwhile driving the Tekton DI se directly, as long as you have the Marantz. Just my opinion. Enjoy ! MrD.

@tommypenngotti  I believe @jcarcopo is using a switch between his amps. If you haven't discussed with him, might be worth doing so.
Tommy, might I suggest choosing the better sounding amp to connect to the DIs ( IMO the Marantz ), and connecting the Sony using a tape out into an input of the Marantz. Enjoy ! MrD.
I have a separate tube preamp that I use that is connected to my other amp which is an SET 300B. I have two sets of speaker wires/connections, so all I have to do is change speaker connections at the speaker. Quick and easy, although it may not be cheap, depending on your selection of audio equipment and cables.

Good luck, regards,
Dan
