Anyone else try reversing the Graphene fuses? Maybe you got lucky and have them going the right way, I evidently did not.
Unbelievable how much better my system sounds now. Even the bass is more defined. Picture Snoopy doing his happy dance, or perhaps the Trump dance...?

I’ll try reversing when everything breaks in (SDFB, Piggy Tail, graphene sluggo)
If my prior experience with Graphene contact enhancer (PPT Perfect Path) is any
guide, it takes 30 - 60 days for it to reach full potential, although a different horse since PPT is a paste not vapor deposited.
my Graphene Sluggo made a noticeable jump at 20 hours just like the PPT paste, there was a shrillness that evened out plus expanded seperation of instruments. Hoping improvement continues. I want MORE MORE MORE!
;=)

@ozzy Due to your success I thought I would give switching direction on my Graphene Sluggos another go after not hearing a difference hours back. Well 🤯! The sluggo in my tube preamp sound definitely improved. The Sluggo in my tube amp I couldn’t distinguish a noticeable difference like my preamp. I will spend some more time flipping the amp Sluggo in between eating my plate of crow!😂

Question to Mark: am I right that the box results in a 1-2 db transmission loss?
|
Hello and thanks for your question
There is no loss using Swiss digital fuse box I can assure you of this
Thank you very much for your question and I hope everybody will continue experimenting with Sluggo.
Best holiday wishes to all

antigrunge2,
To the contrary, I noticed much more "muscle" (dynamics) with the SFB compared to using the SR Pink fuses.
I do think that the SFB works its magic best with amps. Afterall it is replacing a hair-like wire in a fuse with a much larger diameter slug.

I'm trying so hard to not address this thread too much and to just allow the opinions both positive and negative to flow for lack of a better word organically
Ozzy is correct I generally ask that people start with their amplifiers first. The results are usually remarkable to most that have written me
Fuse boxes now being sold very successfully all over the world and recently there are some marvelous reviews in Mandarin that have been posted in Taiwan that are just extraordinary
We're very proud of fuse box and fuse box Max and it's true we do have other things coming that will really I think impress our customer base
I really appreciate all of the opinions here and again trying very hard to not get in the way
Happy holidays to all
Best wishes

@ozzy
Agreed, what I was trying to get at is that there seems to be a very slight volume loss comparing an inserted box to a sluggo only setting. That said the benefits compared to fuses are uncontesteable

I purchased two Swiss boxes replacing Purple and Master SR fuses. They are now pretty broken in and I love them! I have a Graphene Sluggo on my Int amp and pure copper Sluggos on my field coil power supply. The copper Sluggos are definitely directional. I have not found the Graphene Sluggos to be directional in my amplifier.
The SR fuses are wonderful, but the Swiss box does not editorialize or color the sound in any way. All SR fuses have a sound and personality if you will. Using them I was forced to find the recipe or combo of fuse colors needed for my system and tastes. None of the recipe tailoring is needed with the Swiss box.
All aspects of sound quality have improved with no part of the frequency spectrum highlighted. As others have said, music has a greater sense of ease and is naturally and rightly balanced. The Swiss box improves dynamics, realism, resolution, stage size and just puts a smile on your face.

antigrunge2,
If I understand you correctly, you are saying with just the slug installed there is more volume than when you also connect up the SDFB. Interesting.
Since my amps take 20A fuses I installed the SDFB Max that outputs 20A. Perhaps that is what you may need (if the difference is significant).

grannyring,
I only have one source (Lumin X1) going directly to my amps. With this unit I still have the SR Master fuse.
Hmmm, now I wonder if I should get another SDFB for the Lumin?...

Well I ordered a 3rd for my Innuos Pulsar streamer. Once my new dac comes in I will order a Swiss for it! All in on these.
|
My third Swiss box is now in place on my Innuos Pulsar streamer. Another gain in sound quality. These are easily the best component/tweak upgrade I have experienced. Just wonderful. The Audiophile’s Wife agrees 110%.
For me and in my system, the Graphene Sluggos are king of the Sluggo hill. They are the most refined, natural and easeful sounding. They make me want to listen longer. Better depth and layering. I like the pure copper also, but the Graphene is next level.

To further improve the Digital Fusebox combine it with a Furutech FLUX 50 NCF. unfortunately that links via 2 IECs, otherwise it’s make an excellent piggytail.
|
@antigrunge2 Please tell us more about this combo in terms of sonic qualities. I was not aware of this product from Furutech.
|
It’s actually a passive power conditioner, crystals based and since it sits at the end point of the piwer chain particularly effective at eliminating ground level borne and EMI/RFI induced crud on the piwer line. It drops the noise floor, increases localisation within and dimensions of the sound stage as well as sharpening impulse response. And the Chinese knock offs are actually quite good.
|
Wow. Interesting. Problem is this won’t work with the Swiss Box as is without the use of an adapter 🙁.
|
Quite so, lest Mark offers a,double IEC version.

I received my fusebox (w/Graphene Sluggo) last week. After a few frustrating days I reversed the Sluggo.. Ahh! There was an odd tonality and edginess to the music before the change. I've experienced this with many aftermarket fuses over the years so I'm not really surprised. I'm using the fusebox with my integrated amp only.

Built my own adaptors replacing the cheap ones from Amazon. My goodness what a big step up in sound quality! If any of you are using the cheap adaptors you really must build a good DIY adaptor. You can buy great sounding AC plugs on Amazon from Viborg or Monosaudio. Here is a link to the Viborg offerings. You can order Rhodium, Gold, or copper. These sound as good as the big dollar ones based on my long history of building cables. You will discard the outer plastic barrels so don’t spend more money on the fancy carbon fiber or aluminum ones.

Simply use Neotech 14 or 12 gauge solid core copper wire in Teflon as your conductor. Remove the outer barrels and hook up the the connectors back to back with short 3 or so inch lengths of wire. I soldered spades to the conductor ends for ease in assembling. Not a must. Close quarters if the conductors are cut this short, but you can cut them a bit longer if you like. Don’t do this unless you understand the proper way to assemble a power cord as you don’t want a short!
I covered with 3 layers of adhesive lined 1.5 inch diameter heat shrink (3:1). Very robust and safe. Sounds incredible and takes up very little room. Total cost per adaptor of around $50. I am able to place the Swiss box right behind my gear on a rack with these adapters in place. I place footers or wood blocks under the Swiss box for support. . Works wonderfully.
You can also use a short 3-4 inch section of your favorite bulk power cord cable. Your choice. I like the Neotech solid core conductor sound and robustness. You do need some skill and experience to build these as lining up everything can be a challenge. I used these spades to tighten down inside the AC connectors, but these are not a must. After you tighten down the connector screws and apply 3 layers of double walled, adhesive lined shrink wrap no part of this adaptor will ever move! Hard as a rock with no give or chance of any movement!
