USB Cable Recommendations Under $500 Intona Reference
Stein Music Maestro Lacquer I did use it on the membrane of my bass drivers resulting in better impulse and reduced boominess. Too scared, though to try the tweeters
Stein Music Maestro Lacquer @bowsandarrows I used it on the metal casing and outside of the connector, obviously not on the contacts (!). the result is best described as less stridency, additional clarity.
USB Cables: beginning the rabbit hole @livinon2wheels You‘d do all of us a favour in not nly not engaging with @soix who knows what he is tslking about but refrain from unqualified commentary altogether. Bits are bits? A bit short, that. Read up on distortion in DA conversion as a r...
USB Cables: beginning the rabbit hole @soix +1, emphatically so. And that‘s both on nonsense content and inappropriate language
Ethernet cables A high quality cable is the Zoerax Cat8 on Aliexpress. Heavy gauge OCC copper and connectors similar to Telegartner. It is directional and really top quality.
Dumb question......why do you need a preamp? @skinzy Any dac needs to emit its analogue signalat preamp output levels. Your experience matches my own. Obviously if you use a digital attenuator at minimum output levels you are throwing too many bits away. Using a high quality analogue atten...
Dumb question......why do you need a preamp? This question isn’t’ dumb at all. Digital components have a high output analogue section that -very rare extreme impedance mismatches excluded- only need an attenuator to drive the power amp. Preamps were designed for the opposite purpose: bringin...
ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE STREAMERS REALLY WORTH IT @jceahodges on my Zenith MK3 I use a Singxer UIP1 Pro and a 10m clocked LHY Audio UIP in series. I have found them to be additive in improving the USB connection
ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE STREAMERS REALLY WORTH IT @pinwa you might want to try adding a LHY Audio UIP USB conditioner to your Pulsar. It‘s $500 and makes a huge difference on my Zenith MK3. I know, the Pulsar has a Phoenix light USB conditioner but InnuOS USB can definitely be approved upom
ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE STREAMERS REALLY WORTH IT @mclinnguy +1; I like your analytical approach!
ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE STREAMERS REALLY WORTH IT @mclinnguy While I agree with Grimm design principles I don‘t believe that Roon is the best sounding software. Certainly in my comparison on InnuOS Zenith Mk3 InnuOS Sense 3.1. beat it hands down. That said, an integrated server/DAC/Preamp seems...
Furutech & Oyaide On BNC look at Cybershaft, on USB look at Acoustic Revive. I have Oyaide Continental 5S and its performance is middling at best, easily beaten by Intona. Haven‘t personally tried but hear positive noise about Furutech NCF USB. Good luck
An Audio Conversation with ChatGPT @antigrunge2 having huge power reserves to drive peak loads on inefficient speakers and avoid clipping requires large PSUs creating strong electric fields with their own interference and hum issues. Better use smaller amps à la Nelson Pass‘ Fir...
An Audio Conversation with ChatGPT This all reads like an advertisement for high efficiency speakers and low output amps: large power supplies generate more noise and stronger electric fields. So rather than muscle amps first Watt focus seems the better approach. |
