Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium

I would look at Kaiser, Wilson Benesch, and Raidho.  The best of their speakers under $30K are stand mounts but all are amazing products.  You could also look at Vivid.  

The Chiara is the best sounding stand-mount I have ever heard.  I love the Raidho tweeter (used to own the X-1s) and Wilson Benesch and Vivid have technically advanced cabinets and unique drivers.  

Why would a well behaved child damage your speakers??

Your Bryston amps are pretty good; they may sound fine on Maggies.

with the top end of your budget i’d work hard to find a dealer to get to that 30k on a pair of Wilson DAW’s. You’ll be making a mistake to not consider Wilson given your budget. Yvette’s extremely good as well as i mentioned earlier.

Was searching myself in this price range and just placed an order for the Audiovector SR 6 ($25k). My room is much larger than yours and the Audiovector R 3 ($10k) may be sufficient. Definitely not for every taste and system but they are very fast, transparent and engaging. Can check out my comments here and I’ll update when I receive the speakers (probably several weeks away).

And also at Fairview Hi Fi.

You definitely have to audition the ProAc K6.  I have had mine for 4 years (bird's eye grey, high gloss and no bullet holes) and they are absolutely superb.  I have the same size room as you.  I'm a member of a local audio club and just about every speaker imaginable is represented in our group including top end Focal, B&W, Vivids, Maggies, JBL, Dynaudio and DALI's.  Our members keep coming back to the K6's for best sound.  They are indifferent as to SS or tubes.  I have the Octave MRE 220's and the Jubilee Preamp.  They love all types of music.  I noticed that ProAc released an special edition K6.  Enjoy the hunt!

There are 3 KEF Blade 2 on sale on Audiogon at the moment from 13K to 18K. I have no space for them today but the bad voice in my head says to buy 1 of these listings and keep it in storage. The good voice in my head tells me to to have patience and buy later when I have the space.

MBL 120 might work great for you. They have a fantastic soundstage.

DeVore Orangutang and Vivid has been mentioned already and I agree that they are great. Borresen 01 might work if you can accept standmounts.

Two names I haven't seen that I think are worth checking out are Aequo Stilla and Boenicke W11. Might be harder to find.

The only thing I would say about Raidho is you need to give them space to breathe and that tweeter is very delicate. It won’t make your kids sick but it can be ruined easily by them and Raidho does not offer grills.
That being said, most amazing soundstage I have ever heard when they are set up perfectly. $18K for D3 v2 is a fine price. You may want to reach out to Raidho and see if an upgrade is available and how much it would be.

I’d advise probably Executive Stereo first. I bought mine from Ed and he’s a great guy, and I know he has the Perspectives for audition since I just heard them there myself this week.
TIP: Ask to have the Perspective pulled well out from the wall and spread more apart. I find that showroom to be a bit boomy in the bass and if the Perspectives are near the back wall like they were when I heard them this week, they will boom. The Perspectives are capable of very rich but tight bass - I own the original Perspectives. The ones at Executive Stereo are the slightly updated Graphene driver version.

Regarding Raidho I would look at Borresen also since they have the former Raidho designer. Still as expensive though, this price range only includes their standmounts.

I just went through a process of choosing new speakers in your price range.  To meet your non beryllium requirement I would choose,out of the many good choices listed here, a used pair of Stenheim Alumine 3 or 5 used.  There have been pairs of both on Agon recently.  They lack for nothing and are quite efficient at 1w/94db.  I decided I wanted beryllium and bought a pair of Magico Q3s instead.  

Magico. Theres a pair on Audiomart, not sure the model # but fairly new and 10K  off list. 

If you haven't yet, you might want to go to Audio Excellence in Toronto ( https://www.audioexcellence.ca/) and give an audition to the Wilson Yvette or Sabrina, Sonus Faber with various floor standers in your price range, and Magnepan (if you have the room for large planar magnetic), as well as Legacy and Klipsh.  That was just after a quick search for audio shops in Ontario, but I'm sure there are others.  You can certainly find online deals with free returns, but given the hassle of shipping back speakers that don't work for you, there's no substitute for hearing them for yourself.  Preferably with a home trial for a few days with your room and other components.  I was able to arrange that with my dealer and it was worth the $200 charge for delivery and pickup when investing the kind of money you're talking about.

Narrow down your search that way, and possibly reach out to see if there are any local audiophiles that have direct only speakers (e.g., Spatial or others) to try and hear them before you purchase.  It's only your ears that matter in the selection, and in particular they have to integrate with your components and room.  But enjoy the hunt!  It's an enjoyable process.  

Another health issue we seem to ignore...people who eat tweeters. A Beryllium tweeter industry coverup? I say hemp tweeters all the way...

I'll eat a hemp driver before I eat a flax one, that's for sure! :)

If you go to Audio Excellence in Toronto to audition expensive gear make sure you dress the part.  I’ve had some “interesting” experiences trying to audition stuff here ;-)

JBL synthesis 4367s. Full sounding, incredibly dynamic and detailed. They sound good with any genre and at any volume level. They have an amazing sound stage and you would think the band in musician are right in front of you. They can go louder than you ever would want without a hint of distortion. Best speakers that I have ever heard.

Thanks guys... recently auditioned joseph perspective 2 graphene and yamaha ns5000. Very impressed with both but the NS5000 was the one that really got my attention  !

l have been there many times and found no such issues. They were always friendly and accommodating.

Since you have Paradigm’s now, I’m not sure why you’re not considering Personas that have Beryllium - which are completely protected?  Short of your children taking a hammer to them, there’s no way to damage the tweeters or midranges.  The acoustic PPA Lens covers are made of metal.  The difference you’ll hear moving to these over your Signatures will make those sound as if they’re broken.

I like the Rockport Avior speaker.  The current model is a bit out of your price range ($38,000 US), but, older used models might be available.  This is a speaker on the warmer side of neutral.

There are Canadian brands that you should be able to audition, such as Gershman, that are pretty nice sounding.  

You have a pretty good list of foorstanding speakers you are interested in, and they do span a range of different kinds of sound, so I think you will have a decent idea of what is out there if you can actually audition these speakers.  I have a few more suggestions:

ProAc floorstanders with the ribbon tweeter.  The bigger models might be a bit too much for your room (they tend to be a bit bass heavy), but, worth an audition because they sound so good.  

German Physiks--these speakers use an unconventional bending wave driver that is omni-directional (like MBL) and sound quite good in a room of your size.

I'd enjoy reading a bit more detail on your auditions, impressions of the Joseph speakers and what grabbed you about the Yamahas.  I've heard the Yamaha speakers at shows and they were certainly attention grabbing!

@cbrents731 I know brother... I love the persona. But just want to get away from Berrylium. Kind of a wife thing too... she just doesn't like it. :\

I think the 9H can almost rival magico m2 and contriva g2 and both of those speakers cost 2-3x more.

For my downstairs I am debating whether to get the Pesrona 9H or the Blades. I also have a 3 year old toddler but I am more concerned with the kid knocking the speaker over. Anyways, that decision will wait until the kid is a little older.

Guys in general what speakers have you heard that compete with the speed, detail and holographic presentation of persona series and magico s series?

MBL for holographic. Stenheim. Borresen. Maybe Verity Lakme. 

I have not heard Magico S, only their smallest standmounts and the big M6 which were spectacular for a spectacular price.

I have not heard Raidho but think Borresen should be similar. Maybe better.

I auditioned the Paradigm Persona speakers twice, in two locations, and though I found some aspects impressive, each time I found myself getting fatigued from the character of the highs.  Not surprising given the rise around 1K in the Stereophile measurements.  I was less impressed hearing them the second time.
But, I can understand why others may really like them.

If John Paul Jones song Bass ’n’ Drums at unhealthy levels are in your taste the speaker for you are the Quested v3110. An active monster for pros. Naturally they play everything you give them with the same self confidence. Yamaha NS 5000 may be a interesting contender.

@prof  might certainly be one of those situations where there is an initial big wow factor but the more you listen the more you might get fatigued. I wonder if this can be tamed with tubes though.
