Looking for a CD / SACD player. Also, tell me about Esoteric
I got a Luxman D-07x a few months ago, and it's a fantastic player and DAC.  Luxman is using a new DAC chip for that model as well as the flagship D-10x.  Couldn't be happier with it.
SOS! Suddenly have a high-end turntable, need to upgrade Amp + Speakers
You don't mention what, if anything, you're using now in terms of amplifier or speakers, but assuming you do have something in place I'd agree with those that suggest you upgrade the phono preamp before worrying about amplifier or speaker upgrades...
Cd player
@jred - I don't know why they didn't include aes/ebu, but the DAC sounds great.  Same chip as in the D-10X that has gotten rave reviews.
Cd player
I also have a C2700 preamp, and was considering either the new MCT-500 CD/SACD transport which, with the MCT (DIN) connection will allow you to get the true SACD layer to the DA2 module of the C2700.  You could also try and find a used MCT-450 at ...
Dealers with excellent listening rooms?
Definitive Audio in Bellevue, Washington has a couple of well set up rooms.  But I'm looking forward next weekend to going for the first time to Shibuya HiFi - a Japanese style listening lounge in Seattle.  They have a few rooms, and I believe the...
Hey, I'm looking for the highest quality recordings from the following Artists:
I’ll second the recommendation to look at Better Records. The concept makes sense: that even with a great release, the quality of an individual record can be affected by such things as how late in the use of a particular stamper the record was sta...
Sonus Faber vs Wilson
Well, GG107, I’d say your wife’s opinion only shows that the tastes (and ears) of musicians are as varied as they are for everyone else. There are certainly plenty of musicians who have a different opinion about Wilson speakers and find them to be...
Sonus Faber vs Wilson
I'm sure you made the right choice to keep the SF.  I own the previous Sasha speaker (series 2), which I traded in original Sabrina's for to get a demo pair.  While the Sasha DAW is certainly a great speaker, particularly when you get to this leve...
Recommendations for modern integrated with tone & balance controls other than Mcintosh
Late to the party, but if you decide to still look for an integrated I would also recommend giving Luxman a try.  Either the L-590AXII if you prefer a Class A amp (30 watts 8 ohms, and doubles to 4 and again to 2 ohms, though that's a conservative...
Tube virgin looking for tube amp under $3k
In my office setup, I have Omega Compact Alnico monitors, which I was driving with a Cary CAD300SEI that I purchased 3 or so years ago, until I decided to move it to my main setup a couple years ago.  This is a SET (Single Ended Triode) integrated...
~$15K floorstanders: opinions sought
I'd strongly suggest looking for a used pair of Wilson Sasha 2's.  I owned a pair of Sabrina's when they first came out after an in depth comparison to the B&W 803 D3 speaker.  About a year ago I traded them in at the same dealer for a pair of...
Affordable US Made Tube Pre/Power or Integrated Options
There is a used Cary CADSEI 300 listed on audiogon right now. I'm using one of these 15 watt SET integrated amps to drive Wilson Sasha 2's, and it's wonderful. 3 inputs and a volume only remote. I sold on a more expensive tube preamp and ss amp co...
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
If you haven't yet, you might want to go to Audio Excellence in Toronto ( https://www.audioexcellence.ca/) and give an audition to the Wilson Yvette or Sabrina, Sonus Faber with various floor standers in your price range, and Magnepan (if you hav...
Help in putting together my system with used equipment on Audiogon and eBay.
I couldn't agree more with the advice to go out and hear some gear yourself, with music you're very familiar with.I took a quick look, and there are some brick and mortar places in Jacksonville.  The BestBuy at  9930 Southside Blvd has a Magnolia...
I have to downsize big time, any ideas on integrated amps and smaller 3 way speakers
Very sorry to hear about your cancer, and hope you can prove your doctors wrong.I'm going to suggest something else to consider, though whether you want to go this route is, of course, a personal choice.  But it certainly offers a much more simpli...
