Speaker Jumper/Link Cables - Best Ones? Nordost Valhalla, Tara Labs Omega Evolution OR..

I am researching maybe buying two pairs of used 'high end' speaker jumper cables.

My 1990's floor standing tower speakers are Definitive Technology BP2000's.
Each is bipolar so it has 2 woofers and 1 tweeter, both front and back.
Plus each speaker has a built-in 15", 300W sub-woofer.  They can shake the room!

Main preferred jumper cable sound characteristics: detailed, warm and neutral.
Main music listened to in no order: rock, pop, folk, jazz, soundtracks and reggae.
Main format played: Vinyl - Stereo - 12" LPs and singles, plus 7" singles.

The maximum dream total budget for the used cables is say $1,000 - $2,000 (!)
Hey, it is a dream that maybe be worth auditioning....then again, if there is a used  or new cable that delivers for less great.  Most of my equipment is used 'high end.'

Please do you have any experience and recommendation(s)?  Thank you! :-)

I guess I would have to recommend Cardas from your description. I’d make sure you can try before you buy. If I were you I would consider using that kind of money to upgrade the speakers.

My Acoustic Zen Satori cables exhibit the sound characteristics you’re looking for, and their jumpers are $300 new and should be more than fine for your speakers. What speaker cables are you currently using?

Given your speakers I’m not sure you need to spend that much on jumpers. I’d first do a trial of these and see if they work for you as they may be perfectly fine and save you $$$. Best of luck.

Wouldn’t it be the ones made out of the same wire as your main speaker

cables?

Acoustic Zen is a good choice. However, I am not sure that it is the best use of funds, as your speakers may not be resolving enough to display the charms of high end cables.

I am kind of in a similar situation. I bit the bullet and ordered a bi=wire pair of Acoustic Zen Hologram ii. Should arrive in a few days.

Thanks for all the thoughts

Yes, my speakers are highly resolving.

Good luck with your Zen Hologram ii.

Please do say what you think of them.  Thanks!

"Warm" jumpers to ...tweeters?   You might want to  focus on the frequencies those jumpers are carrying.

Seriously can a few inches of jumper cable really make a difference?

The suggestion of using more of the same speaker cable is pure logic seeing as you use metres of it before the speaker….

By introducing different jumpers, aren’t you just introducing some colouration to the sound, nothing more?

If your musical source has not made it to the speaker inputs, it will not come from anywhere else!

Surely it’s impossible to put more detail ‘in’ than originally there was before?

The connections/security and quality of the spades or banana plugs is the real issue, not the wires l think!

Thats my logic!

The so called ‘can of worms’ opens up……

@mylogic "Seriously can a few inches of jumper cable really make a difference?"

few inches of cable have resistance in 1….3 mOhms range, which is irrelevant.

bigger problem is speaker itself, which uses sometimes bad posts (gold / other plating over Ti or other high resistivity materials, oxidation etc. just to make it look “rich"). in that case, softer or harder jumper connector metals will make contact, which includes two contacting parts, to become the biggest variable. for perfectionists, like me, I would recommend to open speaker cabinet (low frequency driver taken off, crossover inductors resistance, resistors in mid/high driver circuit to lower output, terminal panel inside check etc.), to see bigger problem with tiny wires, tab terminals etc!
