Some new E-bay scams

Two can play that game.  Instead of claiming " non delivery" claim " item not as described" Wrap up an old sock and return it to seller. 

I buy a lot on ebay and have never had a problem as you describe.  What are you buying?

Buyers are treated like VIP on Ebay. You can always make an excuse for returning an item, even if you buy new, and you don’t have to pay for the shipping either. On the other hand, sellers are scrutinized and scammed by the buyers all the time. For example, many buyers buy vintage equipment and exchange the good parts with a bad one and claim "not as described". Vacuum tubes have been bought, used for almost two months and return on seller’s expense. Sometimes, sellers return the buyer’s money and don’t even bother getting their item back. Other times, buyers file for chargeback with the Bank and get a full refund and end up keeping the item for free. Ebay provides the best shopping experience in the world. When it comes to buying, no retail store can compete with Ebay services, as longer you're not a seller. 

I agree with @carlsbad2 on this one. I have bought and sold so much stuff on eBay with no issues such as this. What are you buying?

You saying they hacked USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, et al? And they know valid waypoints in the route so they can fake progress?

The fake shipping thing was done to me as well. Bought a Plinius amp. Says it was shipped and delivered. Immediately filed a claim since no item was delivered. Funds were returned to the credit card. Buyers, please always use a credit card to protect yourself unless you know as well as trust the seller.

What people are not getting is these sellers are able to hack into the tracking system and show "package delivered" and when that happens the buyer cannot access some of the normal ways of recourse.......I buyer no less than 10 items a week on e-bay so I understand the system, most big buyers don't buy 2 items a week........Most of items i purchase are over 1000.00.......I am more trying to warn people to what is happening, not ways to fix it.......I will get my money back, but it will take a least two weeks of work and several phone calls to e-bay.....It seems to be harder to see when someone signed up as a member, which can help.....Audiogon is one of the worst when it comes to seller fraud problems , you are totally on your own with them, thats why I buy very little on Audiogon, maybe one item a month....... 

carlsbad:   I am buying Audio Research and Dynaco, and I have had the problem with Audio Research only....

Of course the crooks and scam artists are winning....They pay no penalty , everybody has "Rights" except the working class.....They close them down and they change there name and they are up and running in two days......I can pick out two or three of those operators out on Audiogon every weekend......They have no feedback, just signed up on Friday night and there items are cheaper.....And nobody can check up on them untel Monday......But its harder on ebay to check them out.........

Well its been a interesting day, ebay has decided they need more time and are not able to refund my 900.00 plus dollars, I have to wonder how they can pull that off ??   Its been over a month and they can't figure it out, the fact that the shipping was 21.00 for a Audio Research power amp and pre-amp plus two large speakers.....All packages over 750.00 have to be signature, and I never signed anything....So keep in mind when you buy on ebay the "Money back warranty" Is only as good as ebay will let it be and if the hackers can make tracking notices, and items show that they were delivered, the buyer is in big trouble, because even if you go into Pay-Pal for help it shows it was delivered....So us as buyer are going it lose big time........I've had it happen twice in so many months

I have decided to try and file a pay-pal claim, and see if pay-pay can help me on this....Pay-pal has always been good about that, but this tracking claim of delivery could mess that up.......Ebay used to be so good about these things, but nobody does anything about hackers and scammers so the are growing in numbers, even if they even caught one they wouldn't do anything and they know it.......It doesn't seem that anybody checks out new sellers, so they just sign them up, its not there money that being lost.........

Ebay has closed my request for refund because I filed a claim with Pay-Pal.....What a absolute mess and of course I'm still out 900.00......Who says the crook don't win ??   The working class doesn't win .....I have been trying to get my money for quite a while and I'm not sure I will ever get it,,,,,,

Its hard to be leave that only three people understand what this is all about, but when a seller can make tracking numbers and it shows the item was delivered it is hard to prove your case.....I have been on the phone with pay-pal four times this week with over one and a half hours on each phone call and not much is happening and my other claim I made with pay-pal was hacked into and closed by the seller.......And when happens to you I bet you will have questions then........

Will Vincent is a good and decent person who does not deserve this treatment from corporate bureaucracies. Six years ago I lost $850 sent to an eBay seller for a pair of JBL 65 speakers. They were not sent and I never received a refund. Neither eBay nor PayPal were of any help. EBay of course received their 10% fee!

Well I had my 7th phone call to pay-pal this morning for no answers and nothing done...Each phone call takes about 1 to 2 hours and you pretty much get the same answers (we are working on it) and they generally add 3-5 days on to the resolution period......I had left a neg. feed-back on ebay for this person that ebay removed , so as one can see, everybody loses but the crooks.......At this point pay-pal and ebay have done nothing but waste about 8-10 hours of my life......You have to love it...........W

Pay pal has denied my claim , so I have lost 941.00 because a scammer was able to create  a false tracking number..........And the post office even told them it was fake , but they denied it anyway.....So be aware of low feed-back sellers on ebay and other sites.........W

I've had 3 eBay experiences as a buyer where eBay did nothing for me. Bought a lens described in mint condition but it was consumed by fungus. Seller claimed I was returning a different lease- eBay sided with seller. Another time I bought a Dynaco tuner also described as mint- received a rusted out FM3. Again, eBay did nothing but I did OK on that one as I parted it out- especially the tubes, and didn't loose anything. Finally, bought tape for a Brother label maker- never received it despite tracking saying it was delivered. eBay said delivered and nothing they can do- 

zavato:  That tracking number thing will bite us in the back side.....I spent over a hour today with pay-pal over the same thing and they keep denying my 941.00 claim..........Now they want me to go to the post office and get a statement from them that the item was never delivered.....How would you like to waste a couple hours doing that ???.....But for 941.00 I'll give it a try, but my pay-pal transactions are going to be short lived, I'll take my chances with the credit card company ......But tracking numbers are going to be the issues..........W 

What I think I need to do is get another money paying system, I wonder about G-Pay or Apple pay....Anybody using them  ????     What a mess to have to deal with, and I get a e-mail from pay-pal they want to hold back 500.00 of a sale I made today for 2300.00 ....So I cancelled the sale and sent the pay-pal back.......That's a first with them also, but there stock is not real good and neither is there Market share.......I have heard they have had management problems ever since they split from E-bay......All the "Minds" stayed with e-bay......W

Don't you think you'll be better off finding new suppliers and QUIT buying off ebay?

Mr-M    I think that is a great idea, but I'm also learning that the crooks are winning because people like pay-pal don't train there people and I'm not sure if they know how to train them.....But as long as they have stupid people like myself , they just fall back on us when things go bad........I sold a item two days ago and I took pay-pal as payment and pay-pal held back almost 600.00 for up to 24 days they tell me.....I've never had that happen......So what did I do wrong..........Did business on the internet..........W
