I've had 3 eBay experiences as a buyer where eBay did nothing for me. Bought a lens described in mint condition but it was consumed by fungus. Seller claimed I was returning a different lease- eBay sided with seller. Another time I bought a Dynaco tuner also described as mint- received a rusted out FM3. Again, eBay did nothing but I did OK on that one as I parted it out- especially the tubes, and didn't loose anything. Finally, bought tape for a Brother label maker- never received it despite tracking saying it was delivered. eBay said delivered and nothing they can do-
Some new E-bay scams
In some new ebay purchases I have found out about some new scrams.......The seller sells a item and provides tracking, but it is not real tracking number, it is fake.....,They are able to hack into the tracking system and provide tracking even up to "Item Delivered"and when it comes to filling a "none delivery claim" you have a real time collecting because it says "Item Delivered" on your tracking................I've had this happen two times on e-bay in the last three months.........W
