Tee Hee Hee... Once in a while I just need to have some fun. Mind you, I do not drink to excess; I have never seen wisdom in it. So, the post was not the result of inebriation or other altered state. The quote is lifted from a song. The challenge is to find which song and determine if your audio system is up to the challenge of rendering the discussion cleanly! Trust me, it would take an exceptionally clean/resolving rig to do that. :) I enjoy finding and sharing little tests for audio systems. Have fun with it! Big bonus, 1,000 Audio Guru points to the one who figures it out and whose system cleanly renders it. :) |
Yeah, Google ruins all the good "stumper" questions. I knew that would be found relatively quickly once I indicated the conversation was "lyrics." Theo, ha, good one. "Tee hee hee" wasn't another clue, but I enjoyed your comments. :) Now that we know the source, who's system can render the conversation? This is not so much a contest as another of my samples of "mini tests" to assess one's rig, to see where it is at. I don't need to know if your rig plays it cleanly, I thought I would share another of my snippets of material which help me assess a rig's performance. :) Frankly, I was laughing hard when I heard the conversation from the song, as it shows a sense of humor on the part of Parsons. Finally, hey, Almarg, shoot me an email - we got "things" to talk about! I've been waiting for months to tell you that. Now I can talk to you about "stuff." It will be worth your time. You should be able to get my email from my recent conversations on Audioasylum.com, where I've been in the Speaker and Planar Speaker asylums lately. |
Bojack, perspective plays into it. I saw FAQs online where people have spent countless hours deconstructing Parsons' work. Now, I'd say THAT is nerdy. I simply was turning a tidbit of the music I was listening to into an informal audio test. True, some people don't wish to conduct any testing, they just want to listen. That's certainly their prerogative, and they may be "audiophiles" in their own minds. I would call them more of a music lover if they could care little about the performance of the system. To that end I would suggest that anyone hanging around here, including yourself, is nerdy to some degree. Hifitime, yes, looking back at the post I wrote it does look weird putting the words "things" and "stuff" in quotes. It can be misconstrued, which was not my intent. I shared with Al my top secret for a system, one which I'm writing up now. I didn't want to say publically what the system configuration is, thus the bland generalizations. He is knowledgeable enough and a gentleman enough that I thought he would enjoy a sneak preview of the system. He has promised confidentiality until the reivew is published, and I believe he will honor it. :) |
