Qobuz Coming to Canada!!!

Well, it looks like Qobuz is finally coming to Canada in May!
I’ve read over the years that Qobuz sound quality is better than Tidal. How many subscribe to both Tidal and Qobuz?  If so, why?  I was reading a Qobuz blog and they were discussing their most streamed artists of 2023, and they were all, for lack of a better word, “older” artists….David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Beatles….etc. Does Qobuz not carry current pop artists?  I would appreciate any comments regarding both streaming services.

Does the Qobuz brass have trouble understanding Québécois?

Considering they Qobuz has been available for quite some time in Quebec

it wasn't our poutine eating Easterners that prevented its service being

available across Canada but silly protectionist policies.

Its about time IMHO.

Why did it take so long?  Does the Qobuz brass have trouble understanding Québécois?

I just wanted to let all fellow Canadian Audiogoners know that Qobuz is now available in Canada effective TODAY!!!!!

Speaking as a Canadian.

I can hardly fricking wait. I don't hate Tidal, but if Qobuz is better then count me in.

I have Amazon HD and Qobuz and Qobuz is definitely worth the money.

All the best.

I thought that it's available public online, correct me if I'm wrong.

You are mistaken. For our Canadian friends, the only way to enjoy Qobuz is through a VPN - the service won't be directly available in Canada until sometime in May.

Qobuz offers plenty of new artists and a lot more music in hi res without the need for Tidal’s MQA BS.  Lots of people here (including me) have switched from Tidal to Qobuz and not looked back.  There may be three people here who have switched from Qobuz to Tidal.  Hmmm.  You can do a free trial of Qobuz so you can see for yourself.

Being one more, ahem, mature listener, I don't know how many current acts Qobuz features. I do have to say, though, that the selection is truly vast, and there'd be no reason why the Q wouldn't offer what you want the moment it's available to stream. In any case, I've never noticed any inkling of editorial biases on the site. If something's available, I bet it's being offered.
