I do intend to buy another pack of the cards but might not be for a couple weeks. If nobody helps out prior to that I would let you have 2 of them for cost price for sure.
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
Grannyring. I have 7 ecards total and one mat. The mat is on the Inside of main breaker door as posts suggest that is most effective place to start. Ecards. 1 on Brooklyn DAC. 1 on Bluesound vault2 music server 1 on Goldnote phono stage. 2 on Equicore 1800 power conditioner 2 on Ayre ax7e integrated. Out of those card placements only the Ayre coukd be exchanged for a full mat due to size of other components. To my ears and in my system, it reduced background noise substantially even over what the blue fuses and blue duplex achieved. To me they seem to have had most effect on instruments like piano and acoustic guitar. Appears to be more air and separation on individual notes. Hard to describe but I can certainly tell a change. Now they have only been in place 1 week so expecting more. |
I have two friends who will be ordering a pack of the E Cards for their headphone systems. Their amps and Dacs are very small, way too small for regular sized E Mats. I live in an area that’s in a canyon, so the cell phone reception isn’t always good. In fact, sometimes it really sucks. So ... it will be a small E Card inside of my cell phone case for sure ... and then two cards each in my speaker crossover compartments that I’ve already pasted with Total Contact with very good results. More genius from Tim Mrock. :-) Frank |
uberwaltz sez ...
Yep, and that's the whole point of the audio hobby as far as I'm concerned. Great audio gets us closer to the music and the performers. And isn't that the discerning point between the true song stylists, the great musicians ... and the also-ran's, as well? Frank |
uberwaltz, you will notice an immediate change after you apply the tc. Then for at least the first 8 weeks it will cure and your system will continue to get better. I have not gone crazy pasting everthing in my system but with interconnects, power cables and iec inlets I have noticed an incredible overall increase in all aspects of my system. |
uberwaltz, The pins in the IEC are good to paste. If you have a tube amp pasting the pins on the tubes a third to half the way up also has a great effect. It's not that hard and really worth it. After all pins are pasted, plug in and take out and check under a good light to make sure there is no bridging of the TC between the pins. Enjoy! |
Well I applied the TC paste this morning. Squeezed out what I thought was a tiny amount but it was enough to do my main system, second system, third system AND the ht rig too! Goes a long way. This was all power cords, interconnect and speaker cable ends. I did not open up any equipment and do anything inside. Doing contacts in the main breaker box will be a job for another day. I must have 3/4 of the tube left! In the freezer it goes. |
As uberwaltz says, a little goes a long way. I've found it best to just gently squeeze the "plunger" so that just a small amount of paste barley comes out of the end of the tube, then dab the brush onto it from there. This way, there is very little waste. After pasting the innards of my power conditioner and the speaker crossovers, the sound has improved drastically. I was listening to my favorite Karrin Allyson CD last night, and it was as though she was right there in front of the listening position singing to me personally. Down right awesome. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Karrin-Allyson-Round-Midnight-New-CD/131936953980?epid=97528638&hash=it... Frank |
Well well, I have to share my recent experience. I know folks will think my comments are hyperbolic and I don’t blame them as I would think the same thing. It has been a long time since I have been this impassioned, at this level, with any new audio product or tweak. I will be direct here and not hold back what I am thinking and experiencing. First, I have had one Emat in my system for some 6-8 weeks. I forget exactly how long. I have also TC pasted just about all I can safely in my rig. Well I placed Ecards in the following positions. One ..... - in my Ifi USB 3 filter/reclocker The results are astounding. Why every single audio manufacturer does not put these in their units is beyond me. This is an absolute game changing technology that easily trumps every other tweak and modification I have executed over the past three decades. How can I put it even more directly? Every single Aphile who really wants an emersive listening experience must, I repeat, must do the following. Purchase one TC paste kit. Purchase one 5 Ecard set. Read the thread and place where others have shared you get a Big Bang impact. This is how to begin. Sure at least one mat will follow. Now enjoy your CURRENT system like never before without needing to really do anything else. Yup, I am excited and know of no other tweak or equipment upgrade that goes to this level of sound quality improvement. None, regardless of cost. No amp or dac upgrade will reach this level of improvement. Is is possible a person or two will not realize this same experience? I suppose it is. However, for the other 95% enjoy! I have two Ecards left and they will go into my TC paste treated speaker crossover networks. I know Frank and others here keep on sharing their utter excitement and joy with these products and what they have accomplished in his system. I can tell you fellow Agoners they are not exaggerating one little bit. |
Those of us that stream and utilize computer based audio will find these Ecards wonderful. Place them near critical areas like usb filters or reclockers. Near the outputs of your streamer no matter the type of interface used. If you use LPSs to power your clocks, filters, computers, servers etc...., then place an Ecard in each of these power supplies. If you have a special Pink Faun, SOTM or other sound card, then place the Ecard near it. Point of clarification. These can just be placed on top of the unit as there is no need to place them inside the gear. The card’s back is conductive so if one decides to place these inside gear, then proper care must be taken to avoid any possibility of the card causing an unintended short. I was able to place them inside my gear as I have lots of experience inside electronics. |
Grannyring. So you like them? Lol. I concur with ecards and their use around smaller DAC, power supplies, media server and equicore. Freshly TC pasted system this morning and finally got around to finding time to sit down and listen to something. First music I qued up on Tidal just 16/44 Red Velvet Car by Heart. I am still sitting here with a big silly grin plastered across my face! It is as though Ann Wilson is in the room performing just for me! I know some made fun of my prior description but it is still as good as I can come up with. The music is just there, in the air and all around. It is definitely not coming out of my speakers, just can't be! So yes very very happy as well and if it all only just gets better?? Oh boy! |
Great to hear grannyring! I have a Sonore ultraRendu that I intend to put an e-card under and over when I get ready to order some. Glad to see you’re getting such good results! i just moved in to my new place and was able to this time paste some TC to the wall wire to my Furutech NCF receptacles for both my HT and main stereo rig with great results. Still need to try the TC on my speakers crossovers. |
I was thinking about starting a new thread on this one, but Its just as well to have at it here. I received my five-pack of the Alpha E Cards in today's mail. The first experiment was with my cell phone. I placed one E Card inside the back of the cell phone's protective cover. I immediately noticed a sharper, clearer picture with better color. After that, I took a break to watch the LSU vs Georgia game. I'm now typing this at my computer (duh!) and listening to Spotify through my Grado RS-1 headphones. The Grado's have a flat surface on the outside of the ear speakers. I just completed an experiment. I took the other four cards, put two in each hand, and held them up to the flat Grado surface. This makes for a very easy A/B comparison. The Grado's are a very nice headphone and I've enjoyed them immensely over the years. Bottom line ... When I held the E Cards up to the phones, the sound became much more spacious with lots more inner-detail. More musical too. With the E cards removed, all the benefits go away. Highly recommended ... !! Frank |
The TC treatment on the power conditioner and speaker crossovers are really paying dividends now. Its been just about four weeks since the power conditioner was treated and almost two weeks for the crossovers. As most of us have experienced, there’s a jump in SQ at four weeks and another one at eight weeks after pasting with TC. Well, last night, the four-week jump from the power conditioner kicked in big time. Lawdy Lawdy, Miss Claudie ... I dug deep into the LP vault and pulled out some early 60’s and 70’s rock records. I listen to this stuff very rarely, preferring jazz, jazz vocals, and classical. BUT ... after last night there will be more "rockin" going on at my place for sure. The combination of the Total Contact and the Omega E Mats allows one to hear into the music so much further. What a joy! Frank |
I am thinking about individuals that spill over with integrity and audio wisdom born out of experience such as Jim Smith, Albert Porter, @almarg , @charles1dad, Doug Schroeder and so many others. Not sure why they are not using these PP products? All these Perfect Path products represent honest to goodness disruptive level innovations delivering a level of sound quality improvement not previously attainable with any other individual tweak or system upgrade. That revolutionary in my humble opinion. Scratching my head as to why individuals such as these, as well as open minded builders, are not talking about these products? Is it because it is utterly preposterous believing these benign looking mats, cards, and paste do indeed perform the way we owners know they do? I think so. That’s it really. Anyway, I have long enjoyed sharing about true gems and genuine stellar values in our hobby and these PP products top my all time list to date. Whatever the technology is within these products I can say with excitement that we Aphiles are in for an unprecedented ear opening season of innovation. This bus has left the station and we are now in that season with these products. |
@grannyring I would bet Doug Schroeder would try them. Although, he switches components in and out of his system so often, for evaluation, that a product like PP contact enhancer would be imparactical and impossible to really evaluate. I wonder how many audiophiles are really aware of these products. I can't wait to try the ecard's soon. The PP contact enhancer has been a revelation in my system. |
