Even though the system show me as a new member as of today, I have about 10 total transactions over the years. FYI to sellers, I refuse to look at ads with the new "Keyhole" looking photos. At 50+, I can see the old school photos just fine but I need to put my readers on to view the new style and that is too distracting when I am browsing at ads. I may not be your target customer but my browsing gives me ideas and makes me want to purchase items. If I am not browsing your ads I may be missing something great but you are missing a viewing of your product. Take this as a grain of salt or not. SK |
It's horrible, it hasn't worked for us in quite some time. Since Arnie owned it and before the change. They also seem to favor certain people with special rates We use to be able to sell a lot of items but now the fees cost more than we make in sales. It's not worth it. We do a lot better on Ebay. I wish it would just go back to the way it was. When it worked |
There is nothing good to be said about this latest "improvement". I do not see one positive response addressing what the managers have done this time. It seems as if the new viewing portals were installed to deliberately degrade the website. So I would like to ask the powers that be, please explain to us what exactly were you attempting to do? Hoping for a return to normal, Mark |

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like one of the search options is gone. It is no longer possible to search for the exact model and type of component. For example, on the home page I select Speaker Cables; next, multiple pages of speaker cables are displayed...fine. Now I want to find Purist; since there is no longer a window to enter the brand of cable, I select NAME.... and what is displayed is every speaker cable available sorted by manufacturer. I had to read thru 5 pages of cables and never found any Purist. Is it me or is this a lame design? Thanks to anybody who can help. |

@aztubes. Audiogon has listened to their users. For those users who do not like our new listing layout. You can go back to our classic view. This option is on our search page. This option was added only two days after the new release. We also sent an email about it. Please contact support if you are not receiving our emails so we can assist you. |
@philipwu Do you have cookies disabled? When the latest changes were implemented, Audiogon stated that your search selection would be saved by the use of cookies. That would keep you from needing to select your search choice each time. I am not sure if the date listed function is supposed to work the same way or not. |
hi , would anyone assist me how to set the "list view" and also "date listed" by default in those search listings? Audiogon item listing always have the Grid view display first. i always have to manually click that top button to switch back and also select newest listing display whenever i navigate around different pages. it isn't that convenient.. is there a default setting i can "adjust" in my profile details?? thanks any kind souls please.. : ) |
Audigon: I'm happy to have the list view back. But that Tile View never should have happened without Beta testing. If you want to include a "thumbnail" view, this is the proper way to do it... https://skyfiaudio.com/collections/all?sort_by=created-descending |
If I'm in the tube category, I do not want to see feature listings from non-tube items. Why is this so difficult to understand? Also why is there no newest items listed in the pulldown menu? Please get rid of the port-a-potty view thumbnails. You can't see anything and they look ridiculous. Something you guys don't seem to understand. You test this stuff out before you take it live. This is the same garbage as some years back when the new Audiogon management took over. That was a disaster and you lost many people. You are not and will never be ebay so quit trying to emulate them. |
I've been and Audiogon user since 2000. You wouldn't know that since their first major update back in 2010 just trashed 10 years worth of data. No big deal really but it was always fun to look at the nice equipment I should have kept. Then came the increased costs. Then the stupid auction format. Everything mirroring eBay. Now this. I too, can't stand the stupid little circles. Plus, the photo quality seems compromised. Racing downhill fast. US Audio Mart sticks to the simple format that works just like Craigslist. It's too bad... I've missed the original Audiogon for years... |
Thank you all for your feedback on our latest site update. We spent the week addressing technical glitches that affected filtering and browsing. In addition, search/browsing pages have been simplified based on your feedback. With these patches making search and browse stable, we are able to release the ability to choose between the Classic View you are used to and the new Grid View. Simply navigate to any search/browse page and click the View drop-down next to the Sort By Preferences to switch between the two. Your preference will be set via cookies; you will not be required to make the change every time you log in. |
First time posting on the Audiogon forum; however, I've been using it since 2003 to buy and sell. If they don't fix it, I'm gone and will, like many others, use US Audio Mart. It's unbelievable that when I search a brand I only get a few direct hits (never mind the stupid picture) and then have to sift through a hundred "not-whatsoever-$#*&%@#-related". Just terrible. The fact this wasn't rolled back after day one shows how out-of-touch they are. |
Working in software I find it curious that they didn’t just roll back until they worked out the bugs (aka the terrible design, broken search, and sorting). I know it’s a small company but I imagine the lost revenue over a holiday has to hurt way more than the egos of the people who approved this abomination. i had never heard of audio Mart until this thread and the other one. Now I know about it and it will be my first place to search as a new comer to this market (made two audiogon purchases over the past 2 months). It looks like Audio mart has many of the same listing for what I’m looking for, so no reason to check both sites. |
I finally come to this thread to join the complain. The change is very bad. Same as other people here, I can not do a meaningful search any more. And the search result contains a bigger "similar" match section, don't know the purpose. The result I want used to be a full row listing I can scan through, now I have to go through many clicks and pages. I wonder who designed this new look and who approved this new look. Hard to use. Please at least allow people can "switch" or "toggle" between the original listing result page or the new look. Sad to not using this site anymore. |
Part of my email response to Audiogon read... "If you can introduce a 100% classic view by tomorrow you might get most of the Audiogon user base to come back. Here's the kicker... Classic View needs to be default and this new screwed up view needs to be the OPTION and not the other way around. By having the classic view be the OPTION and not the other way around that's basically saying "We heard you community but we don't give a flying f*ck about your preference"." Audiogon responded... "Well said. Passing along your comments to the Powers to be. Trust me, we are working on getting things back to normal." Hopefully this is a good sign that all of our protest is not falling on deaf ears and that we'll be back to normal soon. Let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best. |
